Next month, companies will add rainbow flags to their icons and logos, the White House will hold events celebrating LGBTQ individuals, and Target and other stores will likely promote rainbow-themed merchandise. Amid all this “Pride,” the men and women who rejected a homosexual lifestyle will be forgotten.
Why should “Pride” have the entire month of June? That’s a question Jennifer Roback Morse, president of The Ruth Institute, asked herself. She came to the conclusion that if so much of America’s culture is going to celebrate people who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender, she might as well highlight the Americans who rejected those identities.
Morse has christened the first Sunday in June (which is June 2 this year) “Ex-Gay Visibility Day,” in a fitting response to the White House’s commemoration of “Transgender Day of Visibility.”
“It’s not politically correct to talk about ex-LGBT people,” Morse says in a press release provided early to The Daily Signal. “To the gay lobby, they don’t exist, or they’re just lying to themselves or were never really gay in the first place. But I have met many people who have journeyed away from an LGBT identity and are living happy, fulfilled lives with opposite-sex partners.”
Morse mentions research from Father Paul Sullins, a Roman Catholic priest, senior research associate at The Ruth Institute, and former sociology professor at Catholic University, who found that sexual orientation is more malleable than LGBTQ activists claim. The “born this way” narrative doesn’t match up with the results of Sullins’ research.
Sullins previously told The Daily Signal that he doesn’t encourage lesbians, gays, or bisexuals to try to change their sexual orientation unless they feel uncomfortable about it. He emphasized that efforts to change sexual orientation don’t always work, but— contrary to the LGBTQ narrative — they do occasionally succeed.
“When people attempt to change sexual orientation, it is fully successful in my studies about 17 to 20% of the time,” Sullins said. “Most persons who undergo it, meaning about 60 to 65%, report that they are less caught up in homosexual attractions and behaviors and activity.”
Sullins noted that about 30% of the 1,500 lesbians, gays, and bisexuals in a 2020 study on sexual orientation said that they have tried to change their sexual orientation and about 10% said they agreed with this statement: “If I could be completely heterosexual, I would want to do that.”
“So there is a minority of the gay population who wants to change, is not happy with living the way that they’re living,” Sullins said.
As Roman Catholics, both Morse and Sullins consider homosexual activity to be a sin, but they’re not supporting Ex-Gay Visibility Day to shame those who identify as LGBTQ. They say they merely intend to highlight the fact that there are options for people who experience same-sex attraction or gender dysphoria (the painful and persistent feeling of identifying with the gender opposite one’s biological sex), even if they are uncomfortable with their feelings….
The Ruth Institute will release videos about ex-gays and detransitioners over the coming month, but especially June 2, to present hope for anyone who wants another answer. Sadly, it seems Biden, Target, and their allies would prefer that these people remain invisible.

If your priest or bishop doesn’t speak out against pride month this June, it’s time to look elsewhere because you should write them off as being cowardly. No more church of nice.
What if he speaks clearly about what marriage is, chastity and sexual morality?
Is it necessary for him to speak out against this perverted “Pride month?” From the pulpit?
What if he promotes Fidelity Month or the Month of the Sacred Heart of Jesus?
I do my best to remind others that June is the month dedicated to devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, with the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus celebrated this year on 7June 2024. This dates back to 1675 when Jesus appeared to St. Margaret Mary and asked for a feast day that we might recognize the abundant love Jesus has for us.That is my response to “pride” month; pride being one of the seven deadly sins.

Every year, I personally go and make complaints to store managers, heads of businesses, and people in charge of various community agencies and activities, if they support and participate in “Pride” Month. I even tell pet store managers and owners that it is profoundly wrong, and ragically abusive to poor, helpless, innocent, loving animals, to present products for them, along with deviant, filthy, LGBT sexuality “celebrations”— you cannot bring good, wholesome families with innocent children, to shop in such immoral businesses I encourage them to participate in supporting only good morals and good family values, and particularly, the well-being of children. Children should always be protected from deviant gay beliefs, sexual activity, and those involved in the so-called “gay lifestyle.” The deviant LGBT beliefs, sexual activity and “lifestyle” are not “acceptable.” They must never be viewed mistakenly as a normal part of human sexuality, which one can choose to participate in. And those “born gay” are not compelled to live and behave that way. They can choose to live and behave maturely, chastely– and reject the gay lifestyle, and reject identification with the LGBTs. No one is a label— everyone is a human being, that’s all. Sexual inclinations and desires are a very private matter, and should be kept to oneself. It is improper and disrespectful of others, to discuss your sexual inclinations and desires in public. Rise above such sin. The LGBT disorders belong back in medical and psychiatric diagnostic and treatment books, and the public must be taught that the LGBT beliefs, sexual activity and “lifestyle” is sick and wrong– indicative of psychiatric disorders, profoundly abnormal– and immoral. Not acceptable. There should be strict laws against all false praise, approval, acceptance, support and celebrations of evil.
I was just informed that the Melrose library branch in Oakland, will have Drag Queen Story Hour at 1pm, on June 20th. Hope lots of good parents will work to try to end this horrific filth.

I very sorry that you choose to believe that “God hates”. Sounds like a truly sad way to live.
To the contrary, a truly sad way to live would be in ignorance of what Scripture says about God. Scripture teaches, states plainly and explicitly, that God hates evildoers. Here is some evidence:
“All who do evil you despise; all who lie you destroy. The deceitful and those who shed blood, the Lord detests.” Psalm 5:7
“The Lord inspects the just and the wicked; the lover of violence he hates.” Psalm 11:5

God does indeed hate. He hates evil and he hates evildoers. Scripture has revealed that as the truth. Christians must believe it because it is true.
Hate evil! Yes. But it is an exaggeration to say that all liberals are evil. That implies that all conservatives are not evil. The truth lies somewhere else.
The majority of liberals and conservatives fit nicely in the middle of the political spectrum, all the while wishing that the extremists at either end would move toward that middle.
Both liberals and conservatives elect those that they think most support their way of thinking on several issues, not just one.
Seventy-one percent of the U.S. population supports a woman’s right to choose an abortion. The liberals don’t make up 71% of the population. On the other hand, sixty percent of the folks, according to one survey, oppose drag queen story hours in the libraries. Conservatives don’t make up 60% of the population.
Overgeneralization doesn’t help discussion.
The left dislikes (to put it mildly) the work of Fr. Paul Sullins Ph.D., of The Catholic University of America. So, they call it “pseudoscience.”
It’s as if science indicates an infinite (and changeable) number of genders a person can be or that the never-found gay gene causes same-sex attraction, so it must be a God-given “gift.” Some in the Church don’t like Fr. Sullins because his professional research found
that abuse involves disproportionate numbers of homosexual clergy and a ‘homosexual subculture’ in seminaries. Maybe that’s why Pope Francis is reminding bishops and seminary leaders that gay men should not be admitted. And, Fr. Sullins believes the teaching of Scripture and the Church that children do better with a mother and a father. And, saying that publicly got Fr. Sullins labeled a “hater” by the Southern Poverty Law Center. May God bless and protect him.
