The following comes from a July 11 story on World News Daily.
The battle over Brad Pitt’s mother and her comments slamming Barack Obama while supporting Mitt Romney is collecting another member of the Brangelina clan: actor Jon Voight.
Voight, known for his roles in Midnight Cowboy, Deliverance, National Treasure, and TV’s 24, is the father of actress Angelina Jolie, who is married to actor Brad Pitt.
As WND reported this week, Jane Pitt, mother of actor Brad Pitt, has been scared into silence by the hate-filled, vulgar and even violent reaction to her public assertion that Barack Obama is “a liberal who supports the killing of unborn babies and same-sex marriage.”
Pitt has even been the subject of death threats following her letter to the editor of Missouri’s Springfield News-Leader in which she asserted failure to vote for Republican presumptive presidential candidate Mitt Romney constituted a vote for Obama….
Now, Fox News is reporting Mrs. Pitt has at least one high-profile supporter on her daughter-in-law’s side of the family: Jolie’s father, Jon Voight. “Good for her,” Voight told FOX411′s Pop Tarts column, adding he agrees with the points-of-view expressed by Jane….
Unlike his mother, Hollywood actor Brad Pitt has taken a strong stand for same-sex marriage and supports Obama.
Brad Pitt has a long history of support for homosexual causes. He once famously declared he would refuse to marry Angelina Jolie until same-sex marriages were made legal in America in every state.
Following New York’s legalization of same-sex marriage, Pitt said, “It is each American’s constitutional right to marry the person they love, no matter what state they inhabit. No state should decide who can marry and who cannot.”
In 2008, Pitt donated $100,000 to help fight passage of Proposition 8, a constitutional amendment in California that recognized marriage as being between one man and one woman. In March, he portrayed homosexual Judge Vaughn Walker in 8, a play that re-enacted the trial where Walker overturned the amendment.

Well, if someone kills her, someone else will kill them. That is usually the way it works.
Anne T, I can’t believe that you wrote, “Well if someone kills her, someone else will kill them. That is usually the way it works.” Anne, You can’t mean that. That is not a Catholic response. Your response is kind of a que sera sera, whatever will be will be, the futures not ours to see que sera sera, Anne, I am positive that you have much more depth to you than those words. Last night I still defended you by stating that you do always defend Church Teaching. Here we have a uniquely courageous example of Brad Pitts mother and John Voight drawing a line in the sand to expose how Christians are faced with death threats if they dare to courageously speak up for morality and the truth. Brad Pitts mother also spoke out against abortion. This was so very courageous and you had not one word of praise for their courage. Anne, I am getting the distinct eeling that you are sick of this subject and you want it to go away. I don’t blame you. I would love that too. Remember Anne, it is one thing to want to remain silent or take vacations because these certain topics are upsetting, but it is quite another to downplay or deflect attention away from those who do have the courage to speak up. I know you are capable of much more than this cavalier statement that ignores our need to be vocal when confronted with evil face to face.
Catherine, I was not be cavalier. Perhaps I was not clear. Yes, I am sick of this subject, and sometimes I think if I hear one more thing about homosexuals and lesbians, I will puke. Nevertheless, what I meant was if they think we would take her murder “lying down”, they have another “think coming.” We will not!
ANNE T., you are very correct in that violernce begets violence. it’s terrible the mrs. pitt was threatened for exercising her right of free speech.
Of course “we” also need to remember “put your sword back into the sheath…he who lives by the sword shall die by the sword.”
Passed time to boycott all Brad Pitt and Angelena Jolie movies. And all others whose actors are publically active supporting – “Barack Obama … a liberal who supports the killing of unborn babies and same-sex marriage.” “… failure to vote for Republican … presidential candidate Mitt Romney constituted a vote for Obama….”
Anne, when we boycott Hollywood movies, people like President Barak Obama just bail out the industry with our tax dollars in the name of helping the “job” situation. Nevertheless, I avoid the huge majority of their movies, and try to stay away from the gossipy news on my computer about the so-called “stars”, who mostly are just America’s version of pagan idols. We are also exporting much of this trash to other countries. Recently, though, with the co operation of decent Muslims and Christians in one country a trashy, vulgar and decadent “concert” was kept out of the Phillipines. Muslims are not always wrong. Now I will probably get bashed for saying that, but it is true.
This is from my Webster’s dictionary:” A person without gentlemanly instincts, one who deliberately and callously or shabbily violates the code of decent social behavior.” I’ve found from playing scrabble that our modern dictionaries are watering down or eliminating many words. It’s all part of the dumbing down of people. I also have the 13 vol. Oxford dictionary, that also gives a word’s origins as well as definition but it’s way too *hot here to be hauling out huge tomes. Brad Pitt is still a cad, by either definition, wouldn’t you say?
*My husband & I were green long before the name was coined. We heat with wood and our house isn’t air conditioned . We compost everything and recycle everything we can. So when you see it’s in the 90’s in Ohio, believe me when I say I’m hot. It’s a great way to stay warmer in winter…you remember all these wonderful hot summer days and it carries you through the dark, gray winter days. Having air conditioning numbs you to seasonal changes and makes enduring the heat when you do go outside all the more difficult. But I digress. ha
I am tempted to write to Mrs.Pitt’s newspaper in support. I’m sick of being bullied by these homosexual harpies that rely on fascist suppression of free speech. Nothing she said was anti-gay but these thugs don’t even want us to have our own thoughts or beliefs. They’re no different than the ku klux Klan and it wouldn’t surprise me a bit if they form vigilanti groups to burn down and terrorize the homes of people who think homosexuality is a sin and they have no business forcing their views on others. There’s something inherently depraved and obsessed in a notion that one whole segment of a culture is united because they all favor anal sex and they can’t get married in a church. I mean, just think about it folks…what is it that makes them any different from the rest of us? The fact that they prefer their defecation tracts to a woman’s biologically designed vessel does not give them special rights over the rest of society? Have we all gone mad?
Wow!
Where is the FBI? Hate is hate and as Anita Bryant has found out, these people will do anything and everything to destroy the truth and of course, most politicians and judges hate the sin of homosexuality, but, they are also afraid to speak out. I’m not sure if I have seen any of Brad Pitt’s movies, but, what is he, just another misguided voice of Hell-lywood sending their vomit out into the world. +JMJ+
Well, good for Jon Voight. Too bad Brad Pitts doesn’t stick up for his own mother. I guess his support of the freedom in the name of same sex marriage doesn’t extend to freedom of speech in opposition to whatever he helps finance.
We need more outspoken men and women to denounce the present administration’s desire to intervene between a child and parents,, and within the church, dividing its clergy.
What can you expect? It’s Hollywood and so is Brad Pitt. Furthermore, who should care?
Bud, My! My! My! What in tarnations happened to your usually very strong backbone? How can you write, “Furthermore who should care?” Bud, are you the same Catholic man who showed such excellent leadership a few days ago when you told others to “Speak up openly or be trampled!!!!!” Yes, Bud *YOU* even placed SEVERAL exclamation points to emphasize the important need to speak up to defend morality. Now we have two very public figures who did stand up for the truth and you write, “Furthermore, who should care?” The fact that this story involves Hollywood should make this story all the more important. This story should make ALL Christians care about the tremendous courage that it must have taken for this mother to not only go against her famous son but even more courageously, she actually was brave enough to go against the powerfully immoral backlash of a network of individuals who make their living filming sin and to speak up against the homosexuals who are promoting unnatural lifestyles and immorality. She received death threats for publicly defending morality yet here in the comfort and safety of our homes we are going to lack the courage to even support good deeds? Bud, Brad Pitts mother also defended the right to life. This is an incredibly powerful story. I read that Brad Pitts mother was so incredibly grateful for the support of fellow Christians. Yes, Bud we should care and show support for both of their tremendous acts of courage. MD is right! May God bless John Voigt for going against the culture of death. Strong moral leadership from men is so inspiring!
this is really the Pitts…
Good for Voigt and God bless him. To me he is a great example of being Catholic. He had a crazy life and had a profound conversion of heart and now seeks mercy. God Love You.
Wow, MD are you sure Jon Voight is a Catholic? I really admire him now that he is speaking against most in his own industry, but some of his movies weren’t exactly moral so I am glad he is now with moral Americans, praise God!
God bless, yours in Their Hearts,
Kenneth M. Fisher
Kenneth M. Fisher: From what I have seen, Mr. Voight was raised Catholic and went to parochial school, and went to Catholic U in DC. I had heard that he was deeply impacted by doing the biography of Blessed Pope John Paul the Great and it seems that he began really speaking out against Hollywood around the time of that movie. I find no coincidence in this and think our Blessed Pope asked the Lord to pour grace upon Mr. Voight. The beauty of our faith is something Hollywood and our world will never get and that is that despite all the evil we can do, when we turn to Christ for Mercy and receive Sacramental forgiveness, we are made new. It is in this that we can boldly proclaim the Good News of the Lord as it appears to me Mr. Voight is doing. God Love You.
1st same sex activists accuse Christians of being “haters”. Then they threaten Mrs. Pitt for her freedom of speech. Just who is hating on who?
I am sickened by Brad Pitt’s cowardly silence after being duly informed of how these Gay Stormtroopers have verbally attempted to terrorize his own mother. The man has an inverted sense of morals that he obviously did not acquire from his upbringing. Imagine, donating 100,000 dollars in support of filthy homosexual mockeries of marriage, when the money could have been used to help the homeless or children’s charities. The man is a complete cad. Kudos to Mr. Voight for speaking out in defense of Mrs. Pitt, who deserves a better son than she has.
My last diatribe was to be my last gasp on the subject, (I so agree Anne T) but Paul, I had to let you know that you sound like the kind of man that I grew up knowing and respecting and don’t meet very often these days. You’re so right. Brad Pitt is a cad ( a term that could certainly be used frequently these days).
Jon Voight is also a strong and moral presence and he was excellent during the last election when he appeared on the Mike Huckaby show.I’m not surprised at his defending Mrs. Pitt. It’s reassuring that at least some of the men in my generation show manly attributes, especially when so many have succumbed to exploring their inner feminine side or weeping copiously over various wrongs they have suffered. Anyway, the next time I see a post about homosexuals, I’m fastforwarding to the article on wayward nuns or scandalous Sunday school teachers and giving those nodcocks the go-by. Life is just too short and there are just too many whining weenies in this world that would love to bring us down.
cad [kad]
noun
1. an ill-bred man, especially one who behaves in a dishonorable or irresponsible way toward women.
something tells me that CATHERINE is not going to vote for obama this fall…but i may be crazy…
cad = [max]
1. an ill-bred man, especially one who behaves in a dishonorable way toward women and clarifying Church teaching on homosexual issues.
oh, CATHERINE, you are so witty.
and versatile.
you move with increidble speed from being like queen boudica of britain, mounted on your chariot, with sword of righteousness in hand — to be being a dainty damsel in distress, bullied by mean males with malice.
it’s rather hard to keep up with just which CATHERIEN we wencounter each day…
Bravo Catherine!
actually, that SHOULD be “brava, catherine!” if she is a female.
I would not be too concerned about hating that which God hates. Those who fall for the seduction of the gay movement will become gay unless they stop believing the gays. It is very simple. Gays have only one objective and that is to conquer God. They use force and they use deception, and their resources come from the dark where God cautions the faithful not to explore.
“Gays have only one objective and that is to conquer God.” wowee, JLS, this is one big objective! such a battle plan should keep them busy for quite a while, and given them no time for hanky panky and suchlike!
Max, I think JLS was only using hyperbole, an exaggeration. He often does that. The Lord Jesus, as an ethic Jew, used hyperbole a lot, too, as when he said not to call any man “father”. He, of course, meant that we should recognize that all fatherhood comes from God, and that all fathers should try to please God first, and then they will truly be good fathers.
Oops! make that an “ethnic” Jew, please.
dear ANNE T., i think you are probably quite correct regarding hyperbole.
as for ethic and ethnic, i thought at first you were describing JESUS as an “ethical jew,” which is not bad either.
(as you well know, i nenver make any typing mistakes myuself…except when typing…)
Max, I try to be very plain and clear and not be in a hurry, but sometimes that just does not happen. I try not to use any local expressions or slang as what it might mean to me, quite often means something entirely different to someone else in another part of the country or elsewhere, or it can have a double meaning that one forgets about until after one has sent it out. Then I think, “Oh! Oh! I hope they do not take it the wrong way, ” but its too late so that is a time to pray a lot. Ha! Ha!
Read Genesis, the account of the gays launching a sex assault against two of God’s angels. God’s solution was to whack the perves, lock, stock and barrel with fire from Heaven.
Voight was raised as a Catholic,[5] and attended Archbishop Stepinac High School in White Plains, New York, where he first took an interest in acting, playing the comedic role of Count Pepi Le Loup in the school’s annual musical, The Song of Norway. Following his graduation in 1956, he enrolled at The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C., where he majored in art and graduated with a B.A. in 1960. After graduation, Voight moved to New York City, where he pursued an acting career.
The new format for postings is not an improvement. The images just above the poster’s names are distracting and a waste of space.
Gratias, if you are talking about the images off to the right at the top, they are for posting one’s picture if one wants to do so. Nevertheless, you have a good point as most of us really do not do that or want to do that. One poster, Francis, has done so, though.
I should add that John Voight should be praised for his actions, and that Hollywood is starting to produce some decent films, and we should back them whenever possible.
Gays are acting like radical muslims
next they’ll do wearing burqas, for cross-dressing!
but no one will notice.
as for acting like radical muslims, threatening violence, it is despiccable. the woman should be able to voice her beliefs without people threateing to kill her.
Larry, that’s what moral cowards always say. We’re talking about the freedom to express one’s deepest held beliefs and apparently you think we should all lay down and play dead and just let the atheists and pagans do whatever, say whatever and be whatever they want, whenever and we have to be spineless wimps and subject ourselves to their tyranny. As for me, I will serve the Lord. I will always try to speak truthfully about the only truth there is. Jesus Christ is Lord. Brad Pitt and that whole sick culture of narcissism and lies, drugs and hedonism is evil. Why would anyone with even an ounce of faith want to giveover to that for temporary comfort and safety. We must stay strong and speak out. What nonsense about dying by the sword. We carry the sword of truth. I suppose you’re against the right to bear arms as well.
Dana, let me get one thing straight: are you advocating that we commit reprisal murders of anyone who should murder someone on our side–as Anne T. seems to be suggesting, perhaps by careless use of language? If you are, then count me OUT! If you are simply referring to SPEAKING the truth, then count me IN! Which is it? Are you–and is Anne–advocating civil war? Set me straight, please.
Larry, must you be so literal? Surely you’re familiar with literary license and hyperbole? If you would just reread what I wrote…”speak truthfully’, ‘stay strong and speak out’, cary the sword of truth et al are all figures of speech. I suppose the only violence I’m advocating is giving pagans and people who deliberately twist the words of our Lord, etc. a good tongue lashing. I did hope you or anyone reading my post might tune in on the heavy irony in ‘being against the right to bear arms’…as in the sword of truth. heh heh. Alas, I’m undone and unappreciated, Larry. I’m sure Anne isn’t advocating violence either! All of us should be ready to die for the faith however. I won’t be a hypocrite and say I’d be willing to kill for it, because I really don’t think I could, but I pray I have the strength and moral courage to fight for the faith. “We know who we are but not what we may become”, Ophelia.
Just war theory mandates that we use violence when necessary to protect ourselves, our families, our communities, etc. St Joan of Arc, pray for Larry.
Amen!
Dana your comments are awesome!
Larry, I am sure Brad Pitt’s mother is well guarded now, and anyone attempting to kill her is likely to get their own head blown off, and rightly so. That is what I meant in my first post. Violence breeds violence.
Good comments Anne T. We must never let our guard down but those cowardly gay activist, some are just trying to intimate her into silence. But we must still take all threats serious.
Abeca Christian and other, heterosexuals who side with the so-called same-sex marriage issues, never realize that in their sometimes misplaced compassion, they are morally responsible in the eyes of God for any diseases these people contact or any injuries they get from misusing their bodies. Tolerance is one thing, giving approval is totally another.
Anne, someone is using your computer without your knowledge! Anyone who contributes here KNOWS that Abeca in no way , shape or form condones same sex unions, so it must be a liberal Aunt Lucy who just wrote your most recent post. Better change your password!
