The following comes from a June 11 story on Catholic Education Daily.
When Pope John Paul the Great Catholic University begins classes at their new Escondido campus in the fall, it will be offering some new areas of emphasis for undergraduates – namely acting and fashion.
One emphasis will be in “Acting for Stage and Screen” within the University’s Communication Media bachelor’s program. The program is designed to prepare students professionally and spiritually for careers in entertainment, media, and business. The curriculum is designed to develop body, voice and speech, as well as intellect and spirit, and will be taught by veterans of both stage and screen.
The university will also be offering a “Business of Fashion” emphasis within the Business bachelor’s program.
In addition, the University is also offering new areas of emphasis in sales and marketing and leadership and management.

This is a great school. When we were working on the Parental Notification Initiative a few years ago, CalCatholic had a contest for the best promotional video for it. One, I believe called the Predator, won. It was so great. Lately I have employed one of the students to do website maintenance for my business website. He is always prompt and is very capable.
The students here are not your Notre Dame type. They are honest, hard-working, and really Catholic.
So, how about they include “The Acting Person” by Blessed John Paul II in the curriculum for their acting major?
