The following comes from a Jan. 26 story on LifeSiteNews.
After House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi repeatedly refused to say last week whether an unborn child at 20 weeks is a “human being,” her archbishop in San Francisco has responded by insisting that “no Catholic can dissent in good conscience” on abortion.
CNSNews posed the question to Pelosi on January 22 in light of debate in the House of Representatives on the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, which would ban abortions after 20 weeks except in cases of rape, incest, and a threat to the life of the mother.
After twice refusing to say whether an unborn child at 20 weeks is a “human being,” she stated: “As a mother of five, in six years, I have great standing on this issue, great understanding of it, more than my colleagues.” She added that she knows more about “having babies” than even the pope.
After her remarks, San Francisco Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone told CNSNews that both science and Catholic teaching on the issue is clear.
“It is a scientific fact that human life begins at conception,” he said. “This has been established in medical science for over 100 years. Catholic moral teaching acknowledges this scientific fact, and has always affirmed the grave moral evil of taking an innocent human life….”

No she did not answer the question directly but she said “The life and the health of the mother is what is preeminent.”
In other words, of course it is a human being but that is not important or even relevant.
The situation of the older human being surpasses the situation of the younger human being. If you have to kill your child in order to live, in order to maintain better health, in order to maintain better finances, in order to maintain a career, well so what? Your needs and desires are more important. ( What kind of Catholicism is this? and what kinds of a mother is this?)
It does not matter if the baby feels pain. “The life and the health of the mother is what is preeminent.”
She knows it is human. She knows it is a baby. She is not one of the “blob of tissue”-ers. She knows it is a human life and a human person made in the image of God, but she has made a decision and a value judgement that the life of one person is more important than the life of another.
It’s a scientific fact –

Nancy Pelosi is so vested and steeped in her DEMOCRATIC PARTY SIN of the TORTURE and MURDER of millions of innocent human beings for the convenience of others – that she is blinded by her evil habits.
” Thou Shall NOT Kill ” – GOD

Catholics may NOT Vote for anyone who supports abortion or euthanasia, since there are no proportionate reasons in the USA – compared to the murder of about 1 MILLION innocents each year.

Abortion: CCC # 2271 ,2272 ,2274, & 2322.
CCC: ” 2322 From its conception, the child has the right to life.
Direct abortion, that is, abortion willed as an end or as a means, is a “criminal” practice (GS 27 § 3), gravely contrary to the moral law.
The Church imposes the canonical penalty of excommunication for this crime against human life. “
Pelosi is dumber than rocks. Having babies is not the same as killing babies.
Pelosi actively supports causing babies severe pain and killing them through abortion – via her words, her actions, and her public voting record.
On Jan. 21, 2015 the US House voted to PROHIBIT TAXPAYER FUNDED ABORTIONS – HR 7.

Nancy Pelosi is a complete idiot, and apostate Catholic, to boot. Neither she, nor the other CA “gals” (Senators Boxer and Feinstein), will say anything negative about abortion. The thought of debating whether a pre-born is a “person” at 10 weeks or 20 weeks is disturbing. And, to think, that you people in CA consistently vote these murder-enablers into office.
The big problem is the Democratic Party, a group that exists only to seek power, regardless of how. Certainly, in the past, there were Democratic Party members with morality and concerns for the overall public good. But, those days are over.
The Democratic Party is bought and paid for by Planned Parenthood. Just think of it, a baby literally hanging out of the mother, and these women refuse to say that the baby should have legal protections at that point. We should all know this, of course, in that Ms. Pelosi believes that abortion is “sacred ground”. Just how stupid do these women think that CA voters are? Chirp. . . chirp . . . chirp.
“…abortion is “sacred ground”
I’m certainly glad Pelosi isn’t my mother or the grandmother to my children, male or female. What with her first hand knowledge of ‘having babies’ compared to her statements, wow, pretty creepy. Like motherhood is nothing but a gateway to potential serial murder. So step lightly, cause you could be or could have been so easily knocked off. Not quite mother-love.
I wonder if she’d take such an attitude about poisoning her family’s food cause – well – she knows all about cookin’ meals and it gets pretty monotonous and tiresome and overbearing. The poison could be redefined as just another ingredient that ‘mother knows best’ when to add.
“I’ve noticed that everyone who is for abortion has already been born.” – Ronald Reagan
Love that Reagan quote…thanks!
I don’t understand characterizing Pelosi as dumb or an idiot. I wouldn’t say she is either. Rather, she is obstinate. Pelosi and others have invested themselves and their careers so totally on support of women’s “rights” including fundamentally the “right” to abortion, that they are incapable of reversing themselves or giving any acknowledgment of the prolife position. In other words, they have sold themselves. Don’t expect even deathbed conversions from any of these people. They’ve made their decision, and they’ve made it irrevocably.
Pete Green, when it comes to the Faith, Pelosi is dumber than rocks, or she is a liar. (Take your pick.)
She refers to herself many times that she is a “Catholic”.
(She could truthfully state that she is a “Catholic heretic” using the Church definition in the CCC 2089.)
However, she has excommunicated herself by her REMOTE PARTICIPATION in thousands of abortions. By her strong and continuing support for murder of the innocent. And her unwavering support for abortion in her public voting record.
(In March 2014 Pelosi won the Planned Parenthood, Margaret Sanger Award, for her exemplary work in supporting abortion.)
CCC: ” 2272 Formal cooperation in an abortion constitutes a grave offense.
The Church attaches the canonical penalty of excommunication
to this crime against human life.
A person who procures a completed abortion incurs excommunication latae sententiae, by the very commission of the offense,” and subject to the conditions provided by Canon Law.
The Church does not thereby intend to restrict the scope of mercy. Rather, she makes clear the gravity of the crime committed, the irreparable harm done to the innocent who is put to death, as well as to the parents and the whole of society. ‘
Joyce – What do you mean by “dumb”? That’s just a dumb word. And it explains nothing. But the malaise that affects heretical Catholic politicians is something that has been scrutinized and analyzed for many years by many. One prominent professional psychology view is the corruption of Catholic proabort pols that takes root over time becomes a virtually irreversible spiritual block. I am fully aware of Pelosi for decades. I’m not new to this business. In fact, a family member of mine working in Sacramento is afflicted with the same disease as Pelosi. I know all about it. But what is absurd is that a person like myself cannot merely make an observation on this board without being subject to shallow retaliatory comments like yours.
…your observations, Pete Green, in my view, are absolutely correct.
Evil is not a disease.
Evil can be overcome by asking for the grace of God.
Those who do not repent will end up in Hell.
Jesus said so.
People who are evil are spiritually diseased in a manner of speaking.
Peter Green, I fear you are right. The Lord Jesus Christ said it, and it is written even in the Old Testament, “Thou shalt not tempt the Lord Thy God.” Some politicians have tempted the bishops, and bishops are human, but from God we will not escape. None of us get away with anything; we only think we do. An unrepentant sinner just keeps on piling and piling up his/her serious sins until his/her conscience is dead. After all, is that not what Judas did? and the Lord let it all run it course until Judas despaired, and there was no hope. The Lord was there all the time, ready to take the prodigal home, but he never came home. We need to beware of the unforgivable sin against the Holy Spirit. We need to be beware!. There is an article on line by a Catholic priest called “Seven ways to Kill a Conscience”, and we should all read it or something similar at times.
CCC: ” 1791 This ignorance can often be imputed to personal responsibility.
This is the case when a man takes little trouble to find out what is true and good,
or when conscience is by degrees almost blinded through the habit of committing sin.
In such cases, the person is culpable for the evil he commits.”
CCC: ” 1759 “An evil action cannot be justified by reference to a good intention. The end does not justify the means. “
A Correction: It is “Killing a Conscience in Seven Steps” by Rev. E. Dion, C.M. I just printed it out for myself as I need to read it often as well as the next person does.
Lord, please give all who reads this final perseverance, myself included. In the name of the Lord Jesus, amen.
Ann T i really enjoyed your comments. What a beautiful reflection in your comments to Pete Green. They are gentle, humble and full of reflection. Also thanks for the book recommendation. Sounds like a good book. When moral relativism makes many to second guess them selves, any good tool to help souls improve for Jesus are always welcomed. God bless you.
Pete Green is right. I also believe that what seems impossible for us, is not impossible for Christ. Pete Green i like your honesty and thus far your style of communication. Very charitable with good common sense and decency.
Thank you, Abeca Christian. It was an on line article that I recommended, though. Perhaps the priest, Fr. E. Dion, C.M., has written books too. If so I am sure you can find them on line by googling his name.
Pete Green, sins are not a disease.
Do NOT make EXCUSES for SIN.
People get diseases – they are not responsible for getting sick in most cases.
People ARE responsible for their sins both of commission and omission.
Do not diminish responsibility for sinning by your choice of words.
Pete Green your comments are conveyed intelligently. Its a breath of fresh air and look forward to reading of what more you contribute. God bless you.
The Archbishop needs to hand Pelosi a letter of EXCOMMUNICATION!! Actions speak a thousand times louder than mere words! Especially in the very serious case of abortion— baby murder! Maybe, sadly, politicians like Pelosi are trying to get votes, by promoting immorality and abortion– baby killing! And sadly, maybe the Archbishop is trying to secure and promote his Church, to immoral Catholics, by not excommunicating Pelosi, as he should! I think all our Church leaders ought to face strong canonical penalties, for refusing to use their own Code of Canon Law– including the Pope!
Linda Maria,
Thanks for writing what I was going to write!
God bless, yours in Their Hearts!
May God have mercy on an amoral Amerika and His Church!

Sad to say that, so far, Abp. Cordileone lacks the fiber to take such a step (or Cardinal Wuerl, the simpering Chief in the Washington, DC Diocese).
Nancy Pelosi, however, should not be treated as a solo; she has a lot of company. The USCCB should convene and publish a uniform set of guidelines to implement Canon 915 and other bases of authority to protect against scandal and, hopefully, to return the offending Catholic(s) to full communion with the Church. Yet, perhaps this is a poor idea — the USCCB could well come out with a plan that leads to no enforcement (like that case today).
Time to step up, Abp. Cordileone, time to step up.
I have also been in the camp for excommunicating these bums. But the bishops don’t share that opinion. The reality is that if the bishops started excommunicating apostate politicians it would trigger a backlash on the magnitude of the protestant revolt. I don’t think the bishops want to risk that, so that’s why they don’t dole out the canonical penalties. The most orthodox bishops choose to go about their reconstructive efforts through a slow process of renewal of the schools and parishes.
Pete Green, instead the Bishops assist in the Mortal Sin of Scandal.
CCC: ” 2286 Scandal can be provoked by laws or institutions, by fashion or opinion.
Therefore, they are guilty of scandal who establish laws or social structures leading to the decline of morals and the corruption of religious practice, or to social conditions that, intentionally or not, make Christian conduct and obedience to the Commandments difficult and practically impossible.
This is also true of business leaders who make rules encouraging fraud, teachers who provoke their children to anger, or manipulators of public opinion who turn it away from moral values.”
CCC: ” 2285 Scandal takes on a particular gravity by reason of the authority of those who cause it or the weakness of those who are scandalized.
It prompted our Lord to utter this curse: “Whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to have a great millstone fastened round his neck and to be drowned in the depth of the sea.” Scandal is grave when given by those who by nature or office are obliged to teach and educate others.
Jesus reproaches the scribes and Pharisees on this account: he likens them to wolves in sheep’s clothing. ”
There are a few Bishops in the USA who do refuse Holy Communion to Catholic politicians who support abortion – like Joe Biden’s, etc.
However there are heretic Bishop’s like Wuerl and Cupich as well. And Timothy Dolan who takes laughing photo ops with any politician he can.
Many like Gomez refuse to stand up to all the intrinsic evils in the State and National Democratic Party Platform because they believe their social justice programs and grants from the Federal Government are more important than human life itself.
Green, based upon your earlier post, of sin being a “disease”, rather than an evil that each of us must take responsibility for –
you are stating that Bishops are letting people die of this “disease’ rather than correcting them because of fear of Protestant revolt ? – I thought they did that in the 1500’s.
And Bishops are letting others catch the “disease” due to Bishop’s scandal and apparent approval of the “disease” ?
What about “PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY” for sin ?
CCC: ” 1791 This ignorance can often be imputed to personal responsibility. This is the case when a man takes little trouble to find out what is true and good,
or when conscience is by degrees almost blinded through the habit of committing sin.”
In such cases, the person is culpable for the evil he commits.”
There is NO excuse for the Catholic literate to be ignorant in the USA.
The Bible and the CCC are available to all.
Laziness (sloth, a capital sin) – refusal to read the Bible and CCC does not diminish any sin.
