Bill pending in California Assembly would require schools to let boys to play on girls’ teams, share ‘facilities’

UPDATE: Capitol Resource Institute reports, “Assemblyman Tom Ammiano has pulled AB 266! We want to thank you for calling your Assemblymembers as well as the Assembly Education Committee. Because of the pressure you applied this bill has been withdrawn. Your voice was heard loud and clear!”

News from the Pacific Justice Institute

Less than a week after California’s gay history mandate went into effect, a new pro-LGBT bill introduced last week promises to stir even more controversy.

AB 266, sponsored by Assemblyman and comedian Tom Ammiano (D-San Francisco), would require schools to allow students to participate on sports teams according to their “gender identity,” not their biological sex.

This is no joke. That means that a boy who claims that he identifies as female would have the right to try out for the girls’ basketball team, potentially taking away an opportunity from a girl who might otherwise make the team.

“This bill will potentially turn long established federal law that provides equal opportunities for boys and girls to participate in school athletics on its head,” said chief counsel Kevin Snider.

But that’s not all. The bill also mandates access to opposite-sex “facilities,” apparently including locker rooms.

According to its text, “This bill would require that a pupil be permitted to participate in sex-segregated school programs, activities, and facilities, including athletic teams and competitions, consistent with his or her gender identity, irrespective of the gender listed on the pupil’s records.”

Critics say the implications of the bill are staggering. One such critic is Brad Dacus, president of Pacific Justice Institute, which will be opposing the bill.

“Those afflicted with Gender Identity Disorder need professional counseling and our compassion, not more mandates that do not serve the best interests of our children,” he said.

Liberals are completely disconnected from reality and truth. The whole world is Fantasyland to them.

Without God’s grace, no matter how much we try to correct any great evil and injustice, In our actions done in charity, they will always find fault. This world will continue to be wicked and it will continue to grow in its wickedness. Our children are the ones who will suffer the most. There will be more child problems, parents will be the ones who will condone and bow down to such great evils out of false compassion. The good parents who will seek to support to guide their children in a more virtuous growth will suffer more, they will be falsely accused of pushing their kids towards stress, due to our values clashing with today’s society. We will have to pray for God’s graces to be embraced by our children so this sort of indoctrination won’t affect their healthy mental development.

This would not be an issue if the people of California would vote out the Democratic Party political hacks in charge today. When will they learn ? As Obama told McCain in 2009, elections have consequences. In California, those elected have the power to completely ruin your children’s education. They’ve already made significant progress in the goal to pervert the education system until it’s pure indoctrination. When will the parents rise up and challenge some of this garbage ?

I’m wondering if this “familization” of society might be due to the lack of natural siblings. Human social nature has always consisted of nuclear families with more than one point two children, and man has typically socialized among several brothers and sisters. This no longer being the case, then it is possible that instinct is driving man to artificially create his brothers and sisters by simply declaring others around him to be his or her brothers and sisters. Hard concept to explain so I’ll keep at it.

It is my understanding, that Ammiamo pulled it….. Lots of phone calls to our state reps did the trick ! Which proves, we MUST ALWAYS speak up!!! Praise be to God.

Okay Brothers and Sisters! Here is a bill that should never become law. If you have time to comment on this article then you have time to email your state legislators and ask them to opposed this bill when it comes up to for a vote. Don’t know who your stated legislator is? In your search engine type California State Legislature. Once on the website click Legislators, then look up by by Zip Code or your Address. Ta-Da! Your legislators names appear with a link to their websites complete with addresses, phone numbers and the ability to email your legislator. (I would have just given you the look-up link but Cal Catholic does not allow it.) Don’t just sit there in your righteous indignation. Don’t let this bill become law. Do something about it!

Why a notorious homosexual has so much influence in the CA legislature is totally beyond me. Anybody with a child in CA public schools should consider pulling the child out for their own good.

What if one suffers from species confusion? Suppose one feels closer to canis familiaris than homo sapiens sapiens for example. Shouldn’t she be able to identify publicly with the species she most identifies with. To do otherwise would be hypocrisy would it not?

This piece of legislation is insane. Since most parents cannot afford to send their children to private or religious schools, and many cannot home-school because they work outside the home, the next best choice would be to demand that their children be excused from Phys. Educ. because of their personal or religious beliefs. Or, the child could go to P.E. class and just sit in the class, without changing clothes or participating. If enough children do this the school would be forced to make other arrangements. The entire California educational system is spinning out of orbit, and the children are going to be damaged by it. Parents need to get to know other parents so they can band together to protect their children from this Orwellian dilemma. God help us all.

I transferred to public school during 5th grade and was taught how to play baseball by the first girl who befriended me. Three days later, the boys invited me to join their team, and a few days after that, elected me captain of the team. That year we were the top team in our region. At least 20 years passed before I read of other girls who were on the boys’ teams. As a full-on, boy-kissing girly-girl and full-on baseball-slugging star of the baseball team, I felt free to do whatever I wanted, regardless of society’s expectations, and I am so glad I did. I wouldn’t have missed either pastime for the world. I don’t condone this asinine law; it is ridiculous. Why should kids have to pretend to be some other gender, even to the extent of using the other gender’s locker rooms, when being a living, breathing human being should be sufficient excuse for doing whatever you feel like doing? However, society needs to get over itself when girls excel at sports and boys love to cook. What’s wrong with that? Look at the Arab world and its strict gender role definitions and compare it with the Western world and our increasing comfort with women and men doing what they love to do, and tell me where you’d rather live. God gave each one of us a broad range of interests and abilities as well as individual freedom to be our natural selves, just the way God made us. We give away our birthright when we allow society’s ridiculously limiting strictures to tell us what we can and can’t do with our God-given lives. I thank God for my life and plan to do as much as I can with it while I still have it, no societal limitations needed, thank you very much.

I remember seeing a video some time ago showing “uncivil” action in San Francisco’s Castro (“gay”) district. At the end of the video was Tom Ammiano shouting at the camera, “F…you, f… the state”. Great stuff for a professional educator. It seems that his words apply still to the California populace.

Mich, you’re asking the Calif voters to swap entitlements for better politicians? Money in their pockets or politicians in their pockets? Can there be both? I’d say the voters believe there can.

What do you expect. This is just another example of a gay teacher now politician assemblyman. He is also sponsoring a bill to legalize marijuana knowing that it is a wonderful tax source. I am with him on that! Marijuana is no worse than legal alcohol and it’s abuse.

Start the movement for vouchers in education. This kind of madness may wake up the public.

Besides having Truth you need ZEAL! When you have zeal, good people don’t let bad things happen. If you have ZEAL, you’ll start a movement for vouchers.

Oh, great. More nonsense. I’m sure the girls will be just thrilled to have all these boys using their toilets and shower rooms. What next crazy thing will they come up with??? (Something tells me that any boy who tries to get into the girls’ shower room under this scheme is going to regret the attempt…and need a paramedic.)

The Capitol Institute, ran by Karen England, told me it was pulled by Ammiano because of so many of our calls against it. It is good to make those calls on Saturdays or Sundays, too, since one can leave a message and not have to hassle with talking to someone.

This is madness, a madness that is ineluctable when a society moves away from an active belief in God and in the practical things that flow from that belief (e.g., belief in man-woman marriage). The LGBT groups simply despise straight society and all things in it that point to their perversion: man-woman marriage, normal children, limitations on adoption to avoid the depravity of homosexual adoptions, sex with adults of the opposite gender, and the like. These groups are deadly serious about changing everything in society, and they do not stop pushing their craziness. CA voters, of course, deserve what they get in their cowardice to vote these moral lepers out of office. This has got to stop.

Now we need to see that California SB (Senate Bill) 48 is revoked. It opened the door to all this. Our children cannot read, write or do math up to standards in some cases, and some want to teach them who is going to bed with whom by promoting homosexual behavior.

If one gets on the Capitol Institute e-mailing list, they will let you know in time about all this bad legislation. Legislators try to pass these bills on the sly. A good portion of our population has not have a clue as to what some of their legislators are passing. They promise them goodies, and they take their word that we will do what it right, but they do the opposite.

A correction: it is the Capitol Resourch Institute, ran by Karen England.

Another example of the secular world tearing apart the fabric of the family. The attack on the family has been going on for decades and will continue. We Catholics need to be strong in faith for the all out assault of Satan as his time runs out. +JMJ+

Please excuse my typo. I was in a hurry. “A good portion of our population does not have a clue” is what I should have written. Anyway, I think you all knew what I meant.

Bud, You are forgetting one very important thing, you can be around somebody who is drunk and it will have no effect on you; however, if you are around somebody smoking a weed, you can’t help but take in the rotten smell and its effects! I would have no problem with medical marijuana in the form of a capsule, pill, or brownies. God bless, yours in Their Hearts, Kenneth M. Fisher

Marijuana is not medicine. It is the devils favorite smoke.

Can’t think of any saints in all of Church history who used marijuana, hallucinogenics, or were alcoholics. Don’t know about opium for pain relief … but Jesus refused it from the Cross (if indeed that is what He was offered).

JLS, An Irish Saint, I can’t think of his name right now, was a drunkard and he is the patron Saint of AA. I have written of him in the past. God bless, yours in Their Hearts, Kenneth M. Fisher

Matt Talbot, right Kenneth? You mentioned him a few posts back on one of the threads. In this case, I’m wondering about saints and marijuana … it is an issue among many people … I interface with a wide range of people. Drug use in a materialist society brings about the need to address such people through the technology of drugs, especially since so many tend to see a spiritual advantage in drug use. I guess the real question then would be how saints have presented the topic.

Ted’s comment on Jan. 12th was on the mark. I would pull my own elementary school age children out of public school if I could afford it. My son has mild autism and my local parish school will not accept him. What we need is a long overdue voucher program to finally give taxpaying parents a choice to politically correct indoctrination.

It seems pretty likely that the Church’s saints throughout the years have struggled with many demons: alcohol, sex, violence, etc. Just checked with Online Sants & Angels and discovered the Maximilian Kolbe is the patron saint of drug addicts, AND of the pro-life movement.

Posted Wednesday, January 18, 2012 3:48 PM By JLS
Thanks for the tip, MacDonald. I’ll go with some prayer work to St Kolbe, the story of whom is a great one, and not only his martyrdom but his religious life as I recall from reading a long while back.
