Dear Pro-life friends,
Because certain people are trying to block the efforts of sidewalk counselors to save mothers and babies from the horrors of abortion, we are keeping the dates, times, and locations of where we are counseling confidential. The notes below may come from one or more locations during the week. Some specifics have been omitted to protect the identity of people we counsel.
A sidewalk counselor’s notes from the second week of January.
The sidewalk counselor watched as a single woman drove up to find a parking space for the abortion center. She paused and turned her head back staring at the counselor with a worried look on her face. When she was walking in, the counselor gave her flyers and spoke to her briefly as she perused through pictures of fetal development shown in the materials. She said she would check on something inside and then come back out to talk some more.
She walked out about 20 minutes later, flyers still in hand, and headed quickly to her car, without stopping to talk. About 5 minutes later, she was driving toward the exit and the counselor reached out to offer her a Rosary, and asked her if she had changed her mind. She politely declined the Rosary, saying she was not the religious type. She then went on to say that she when called one of the pregnancy resource centers on the phone, no one answered. The counselor told her they probably were not open yet, as it was still early in the morning, but that one of the centers shown on the flyer would be open in about 10 minutes and was located only a short drive away.
The counselor had a detailed talk with her through the car window about everything they could provide, and that any one of the many pregnancy resource centers listed on the back of the flyer could be a central place where she would have access to all sorts of resources, and that there was medical help available at Culture of Life Family Services (COLFS).
During the conversation, the counselor learned that the woman is homeless and has two children, and she thought she was about 4 months pregnant. The counselor gave her additional flyers and information about two maternity homes in the county. She asked for the counselor’s name and said “Thank you very much!”. She dialed in the address for the pregnancy resource center on her cell phone GPS and left.
The counselor sensed that the woman was relieved to find an alternative to having an abortion, and probably had no knowledge of anyone who could help her with her situation. We found out later that the woman did in fact go the pregnancy resource center for help. Please pray that she continues to choose life for her unborn baby.
God bless,

Children are agift from God. What is an individual’s responsibility regarding conception when financial resources are very limited?
