Additional observations Holy Rosary first opened its doors in 1894. It is located near downtown Portland, close to the convention center. It has some beautiful artwork, and traditional devotions. One of the priory’s residents is the orthodox and capable retreat leader, Father Brian Mullady (www.fatherbtm.com/).
Best parish in Portland, bar none. The faithful “vote with their feet” and come there from all over. “Intentional disciples”, Weigel’s “evangelical Catholics”, tradition-friendly folks, characterize them however you will, they make for a very lively parish.
But it does not comply with the Moto Propio, there is not Tridentine Mass!
God bless, yours in Their Hearts,
Kenneth M. Fisher
What do you mean “comply”? The Motu Proprio allows the TLM on the initiative of a priest or when a group of the faithful requests it. So are you reading minds to come to your conclusion or what? The Motu Proprio does not require the extraordinary form — it allows it under certain circumstances.
Is this the parish with the Dominican rite Mass in Latin? If so I have heard alot of very good things about this church.
Beautiful Church, and yes the Dominican rite Mass in Latin is very inspiring. The Cantores in Ecclesia full or men’s schola are most often present for these and Sundays at 1100. The Dominicans can preach!
