Fresno, California Mayor Jerry Dyer has vetoed a $1 million grant to the nation’s biggest abortion business.

The Fresno City Council voted 5-1 to pass a resolution earlier this month that would send taxpayer funds to the biggest abortion company in America, that kills over 330,000 babies in abortions every year. The Council made no recommendation to give a similar amount of money to a pregnancy center that actually helps pregnant women.

Dyer said he wanted a legitimate medical organization to receive the funds instead.

“I remain hopeful that the Council will reconsider accepting funds on behalf of Planned Parenthood Mar Monte, and instead work to see that a health-related agency is identified as the local administrator of state funds,” he explained.

Now, the city council is threatening to override the mayor.
