The following comes from a June 5 email from one of our readers:
Subject: California Catholic Conference Legislation Web Page
Date: June 5, 2015 1:06:01 PM PDT
To: info@cal-catholic.clients.readerdigital.wpengine.com
I just went to the Legislation webpage for the California Catholic Conference to fill out their petition form to send to my Assembly Member. To my surprise, when I used their drop down menu item to select the Prefix, 2 of the many presented choices included:
· Mr. & Mr.
· Mrs. & Mrs.
Here is a screen print to view from that web page at:

Lets please invite the Author / Authorizer of this Anti-Catholic stuff – to Explain the Reason why a Catholic Advocacy Website is Opposed to Catholicism?
I’s just love to read their answer – but would prefer to see an Interview with someone knowledgable asking the important questions.
That was not a “Catholic Advocacy” web site.
It is the web site for the “CALOFORNIA CONFERENCE of CATHOLIC BISHOPS”
EACH BISHOP with a Diocese in the state of CA is a member !
Everyone should immediately contact individual Diocese Bishops regarding the “California Catholic Conference of Bishops”.
1) – Ask that homosexual marriage titles be removed immediately;
2) – Ask that the person(s) responsible for this homosexual posting on the Bishop’s Conference web site be FIRED immediately.
SACRED SCRIPTURE: Gen 19:1-29; Rom 1:24-27; 1 Cor 6:9-10;
1 Tim 1:10; Jude 1:7.
DOCTRINE of the FAITH: CCC – 2357, 2358, 2359, 2396.
This shouldn’t surprise anyone at all. The Church has been heading in this direction for several years. It’s just the next step in the progression. If it receives validation from the top, we may see a huge schism between Traditionalists and Modernists.
I’m glad someone noticed it.
Something for all of us to be on the lookout for.
With our lawmakers trying so hard to win accolades from that community, I wonder if a letter from a Mr/Mr would bear more weight?
This is absolutely disgusting and reprehensible. To think that on a Catholic website they are catering to homosexual and lesbian couples. I agree with Anne about people contacting the California Catholic Conference as well as their individual Bishops to demand that these two categories be immediately removed and that the person or persons responsible for them being listed as choices in the first place be fired immediately. May God and Mother Mary help us!
I viewed it on the website. This is what I do not understand–
There is only room to enter one email address.
I do know some couples who share an email account. But not many (and all legally Mr. and Mrs.). It seems to me that Mr. and Mr. as well as Mrs. and Mrs. would want to each “advocate” on their own so that their homosexual minority looked to be twice the size that it is!
Perhaps Archbishop Cordileone wishes to comment?
The likely explanation is that USCCB bought a software package that comes with a set of titles, and there is no ability to customize the package other than to find a new software vendor or risk early termination of the contract. This is the kind of form you are going to see everywhere, as the legal status changes nationwide. But actually the cutting edge is to leave out the Mr./Mrs. titles and fields out altogether. And maybe this is the kind of package the USCCB should buy in the future. You have to admit that in the 1960’s everyone went by Mr. Smith, or even Mrs. John Smith. (Talk about gender bending!). How often do you here someone referred to as Mr. Smith, except in the New York Times. (Mr. Obama said, “xyz”).
The USCCB staff should investigate all software to insure that it is 100% in conformance with the Catholic Faith.
That is their job. This needs full investigation by the CA Bishops.
Those employees who do not comply with the faith, or do not take their jobs seriously should be fired. (Sacred Scripture and the CCC must be the guide.)
It is time to clean house.
There is no need for any registered voter or other person who contacts a legislator to indicate married or single status. Name and address is sufficient.
Yes, ED that is why we should all continue to contact our Diocese Bishop’s office.
Make certain that all software complies with the Catholic Faith.
and
Fire those who do not do their jobs in accord with the Faith.
They do a thing like this, yet they will not let the Bishops tell their Priests to speak about important issues from the pulpit! I called regarding SB 128 and was told that the subject COULD NOT be spoken to the people in the pews because of Canon Law! I would love to know if that was a true statement!!!!
Elizabeth, it is false that speaking about “Intrinsic Evils” in legislation is against Canon Law.
It is best if the Priest only speak the facts of the legislation and how it relates to our Faith, using the legislation and the CCC.
(He should not interject personal opinions.)
Never hesitate to ask for the paragraph number in the Code to which the person is referring, which will blow liars and idiots out of the water.

Same is true asking for the paragraph # in the CCC as appropriate.
Do not let people get away with lies or stupid statements – so they do not pass errors on to others.
Thank you Ed SO much for your wisdom!!!
The smoke of Satan not only entered the Church but fires had been set and they are burning, soon to be out of control.
The counterfeit Church that arose in Vatican II is destroying souls. It is a church aflame in heresy and apostasy. Reject the wiles of Satan and find a Catholic Church where the true faith has not been suppressed and where your soul will be nourished with the fire of Christ.
SIN is the problem, not any Vatican Ecumenical Council. It is heresy for anyone to state that V II is destroying Souls.
People are not praying the Rosary, reading a Catholic Bible and the CCC at home.
Put the blame where it belongs – on Satan and his earthly minions, and on Catholic Laity who are too lazy to do what they are supposed to do, not on the Catholic Faith.
Another Vatican II denier sedevecantist within our midst.
Use of the prefix is not required to submit an email. So, don’t use it. The note at the bottom indicates that the Bishops don’t control or endorse the options provided. The notion that this is a commercial emailing program seems like the best explanation. How should we address a same-sex couple when we meet them at church on Sunday?
BobOne, how would they be behaving so that you would know they are a same sex couple?
This will help you answer your own question.
As I’ve said repeatedly over the years the USCCB has allowed “Cafeteria Catholicism” to thrive down through the ages to the point of total confusion. It’s time to re-define just what a Catholic is so that we can distinguish the pretenders from the faithful! So, I ask the question, does the California Catholic Conference accept “Cafeteria Catholics” as members and if so will someone please explain what distinguishes “Catholic” Catholics from “Cafeteria” Catholics?
The California Catholic Conference IS the CALIFORNIA BISHOPS (plus paid staff) only.
That is why scandals are disgraceful, and someone in staff needs to be fired for not paying attention.

This “goof” is absolutely terrible, and immoral– but it is a a good thing, that California Catholic Daily received the information, and published it! I hope the problem will soon get fixed!
Nothing will get fixed unless and until each CA Diocese Bishop has been contacted.
If this is some sort of “proprietary” software that can’t be tinkered with they must get rid of it. I’m sure there are open source options that would allow the drop down list to be edited or done away with completely. I’ve had those kinds of lists on my own websites so I know.
What I hate hate hate are sites that won’t let you even submit the form without choosing a prefix option. As others have said, who uses them anymore?
Homosexual weddings in Catholic Churches is the desired end. This is but a means to that end. You have come a long way, Gays.
