The Thomas More Society has the safety of its membership in mind, and is forgoing the traditional indoor gathering, at Saints Peter and Paul Church in San Francisco, in favor of this outdoor Mass in San Rafael. There will be no dinner following the Mass.
All attendees are asked to please bring their own chair, hat, and/or umbrella or sun/rain protection.
The Red Mass is a seven-century-old tradition of prayer, seeking the guidance of the Holy Spirit for those in the legal professions and all those who seek justice. The St. Thomas More Society of San Francisco, founded in 1937, is the oldest fellowship of Catholic lawyers and judges in the West, and is named for the 16th-century lawyer, judge, diplomat, Chancellor of England, martyr, and saint.
