The following comes from a March 20 TFP Student Action article by Matthew Miller:

For a fourth year, basic Catholic teaching and moral decency will be pushed into the closet at the University of San Diego — a Catholic institution in southern California — to make way for the aggressive demands of the homosexual agenda.

According to the university’s web site, the April 16 “drag show” event will be “PRIDE’s Celebration of Gender Expression: Supreme Drag Superstar IV.” This year’s edition will predictably include more of the same offensive behavior witnessed before: men dressing as women, immoral behavior and the open mockery of Catholic moral values.

Last year, one of the “drag show” performers appeared on stage dressed with a devilish horned-headdress that looked like Baphomet, a satanic symbol. Then the pro-homosexual performer, gyrating sensually, sang a song called “Good N’Evil,” which claims that “Good is evil” and “all evil is good.”

The annual “drag show” at the University of San Diego is not an isolated event that happens once a year within an otherwise Catholic environment, but part of a much broader push to legitimize and promote the homosexual movement on campus. On its web site the university offers a wide range of “LGBTQ Resources” and recognizes multiple pro-homosexual groups which enjoy the support of faculty members and students alike, including PRIDE, Rainbow Educators, Safe Space Allies, LGBTQ Action Group and PRIDE Law.

TFP Student Action is once again inviting its members to sign a prayerful online protest to oppose this scandal. The petition is addressed to Msgr. Daniel Dillabough, USD Vice-President of Mission and Ministry and Dr. Mary Lyons, president of USD.

Faithful Catholic students are planning a protest on the USD campus itself.

Catholic attorney, Charles LiMandri, formed the Alumni for a Catholic USD and has been leading annual protests against this offensive event. Responding to LiMandri’s concern, the Vatican Congregation for Education issued a letter in 2014, calling this drag show a “scandal,” adding that “this congregation intends to act through administrative channels to the competent ecclesiastical authority in San Diego.”

Thus far, however, the drag show has not been canceled.

It is opportune to recall the incisive words of Pope St. Felix III: “Not to oppose error is to approve it; and not to defend truth is to suppress it; and indeed to neglect to confound evil men, when we can do it, is no less a sin than to encourage them.”
