Father Joseph Illo, pastor of Star of the Sea parish in San Francisco, gave an 11-minute homily on Sunday, December 6.

Recognize that you have a guardian angel that God has given us to get through life.
We don’t think about the angels. The angel is invisible. And that’s why this coming Saturday I’m going to be teaching classes on consecration to the Guardian Angels. I invite you to come on December 12.
I’m confused. I thought one was required to consecrate themselves to God alone.
the word just means to devote, dedicate or declare something or someone to a divine purpose. So consecrating anyone or thing is, ultimately, to God.
Thank you for the definition and meaning…..I have been wondering about “consecrating” myself to Our Lady, Holy Spirit, and now to my Guardian Angel ???? Thank you for helping me understand — now, I can and will follow through with consecrating myself to God through the Holy Mother, Holy Spirit, and my Angel…..
Love the Holy Angels, lifelong. I used to get Christmas and Birthday presents every year, “from my Guardian Angel,” when young, and my mom and dad were alive. I am going to consecrate myself to God, through my Guardian Angel– just like the St. Louis de Montfort 33-Day Consecration to Mary (actually, “ad Jesum per Mariam,” to Jesus through Mary). And I bought the book for the Consecration to St. Joseph, for the Pope’s “Year of St. Joseph,” too, which began yesterday, on the Feast of the Immaculate Conception. My mom believed she could “talk” to her Guardian Angel, and had a name for her Angel, from childhood! She believed that her Guardian Angels helped her through all kinds of difficulties in life! Once, when my mom had serious surgery, the doctor said she was “out of it,” but “talking” to someone. And our family all laughed and said, “oh, that’s Mom, talking to her Guardian Angel! When she wakes up– she’ll tell you, an Angel of some sort actually came and helped her, and comforted her, during her surgery.” And she did! The doctor was amused.
You can also pray the Chaplet of St. Michael the Archangel, and consecrate yourself to him, too! It is important to seek the help of the Holy Angels, especially during this wicked, filthy, post-1960s era, when mankind has rebelled, with Satan’s influence, against God, committing all sorts of filthy, despicable sins! Many souls are lost and destroyed! St. Michael and all the Holy Angels can help guard and protect you, and guide your soul to Heaven!
from 65 years ago. : angel of god my guardian dear, to whom god’s love entrusts me here, ever this day, be at my side to light to guard, to rule and guide
One resource where you can learn all about your Guardian Angels, and all the Holy Angels, is the Opus Sanctorum Angelorum, of the Canons Regular of the Holy Cross, or Sisters of the Holy Cross, in Carrollton, OH. They are international. Their website is: http://www.opusangelorum.org
