The following comes from a December 13 story in the India Times. Bera defeated GOP sitting congressman Dan Lugren.
Washington: Ami Bera, the only Indian- American who would be serving in the 113th US Congress, today hired two key aides, including one from the community, to help him perform his duties as a US lawmaker.
Mini Timmaraju, also an Indian-American, who most recently served as Director of the Office of the President at Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) and a former District Director for a Member of Congress, will be his Chief of Staff, 47-year-old Bera announced.
In her role at Planned Parenthood Federation of America, Timmaraju managed the office of PPFA President Cecile Richards and partnered with executive management to impact the strategic direction of the organisation….
Bera also announced that Faith Whitmore will be his District Director. “Faith has invaluable ties to the Sacramento community and years of experience advocating for the area’s most vulnerable residents,” Bera said.
“She will help ensure that my work in DC reflects the needs of our district, and that our office provides outstanding service to constituents,” he said.
Whitmore currently works as the executive director of the Francis House Center, one of Sacramento’s most recognised and effective non-profit organisations that provides relief and resources to the region’s homeless community.
Editor: The following comes from a March 9 story on LifeSiteNews.com.
Whitmore told Sacramento’s News 10-TV that a priest personally explained to her in January that the diocese would no longer collect funds for the organization because of her strong “support for Planned Parenthood, because I believe that Planned Parenthood is the foremost educational health care provider to women, especially to poor women.”
While serving as pastor of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church, she conducted same-sex “marriage” ceremonies in defiance of her denomination’s ban on doing so.

This is the price the innocent pay when voter fraud is allowed, and we will continue to pay until this voter fraud is somehow eliminated!
Unfortunately our so called Shepherds share a great deal in the blame!
God bless, yours in Their Hearts,
Kenneth M. Fisher
I agree that the innocents will pay, and that the Bishops don’t do enough, but what is the voter fraud you are talking about?
Bob One,
If you don’t think that having more than 100% of the voters in a District or State vote, than there was none. Also if you don’t think that GOP observers had a right to be in polling places than there was none. If having Our Military’s votes suppressed is not voter fraud, then there was none. Last but not least if you don’t think it was wrong for persons to vote for Romney and have the MACHINE list that they voted for Obama than there was none, but if you have a brain to think, THERE WAS MASSIVE VOTER FRAUD!
God bless, yours in Their Hearts,
Kenneth M. Fisher
This
is utter nonsense!!
Elections do have consequences, and determine the direction of our Country.
The Catholic vote (including 65% of the Hispanic Catholic vote) went for the Party of Death.
CA for the most part is evil at all levels of government.
When are CA Bishops going to start “teaching” the Faith in entirety which is supposed to be their FIRST duty?
Many other Bishops are starting to promote the reading of the “Catechism of the Catholic Church, Second Edition” as instructed by Pope Benedict. What are ours doing?
(There are no excuses since the CCC is available in most languages.)
PETE,
Because of massive voter fraud, actually we don’t really know even if Obama won! We don’t really even know if the Catholic and Hispanic vote went for him. We are now a Banana Republic!
God bless, yours in Their Hearts,
Kenneth M. Fisher
The percentages came from exit polls, and are based upon those who actually voted.
I agree that massive voter fraud in some states was a problem.
In FL, many Republican precinct voters were denied their right to vote. The Supervisors of Elections withheld an appropriate number of voting machines in certain precincts causing lines from 3 to 5 hours. The elderly and those who had to work could not stand in line that long.
How does being a defiant former minister operating outside of her Protestant denominations bans prepare one to work in Washington for the new congressman from Sacramento? Or for that matter, providing relief to the local homeless? I’ve provided relief to the local homeless . . . am I now qualified to be District Director for a freshman congressman, who knows virtually nothing about how to do his own job, let alone train me? Choosing an executive murderess for his Chief of Staff tells me all I need to know about this most recent addition to our collection of incompetents in Congress. If you’re looking for a Congressman to admire who represents an area just outside of Sacramento, keep your eye on Republican Congressman Tom McClintock, a solid conservative, longtime married family man, lifelong faithful Episcopalian, and most Lincolnesque member of the House since Lincoln himself went to Washington. At least one of our California Congressman is someone of whom we can be deeply proud. I hope to live long enough to dance at his Inaugural Ball when he is elected President of the United States, a feat which would mean the country will have regained its sanity.
Maryanne Leonard,
Unless the massive voter fraud is stopped, you will never agains see anyone decent elected to the White House. America must repent and return to the principles for which it was founded.
God bless, yours in Their Hearts,
Kenneth M. Fisher
The thing is Romney shouldn’t have ever conceded. There were a lot of doubt about the honesty of the election and therefore he should have fought.
PLANNED PARENTHOOD does a whole bunch of stuff apart from the crime of abortions, such as helping women with health issues — including assisting them to HAVE healthy babies.
cancer screening.
prenatal care.
and so forth.
no they do not do prenatal care or assist women with having healthy babies. They do gyn exams with cancer screeings yes.
k, you are right. Planned parenthood does nothing expect reproductive sinfulness – abortion and contraception.
Yes, actually they do!!
And Mussolini made the trains run on time!
“Max”: Wrong again! LifeNews (and many other reporting services) describe the deception created and advanced by Planned Parenthood regarding these so-called “other services”. While throwing around some numbers, Planned Parenthood does not say that it sponsors 40% of all abortions in America in PP clinics. Further, 51% of PP income comes from the 329,445 abortions that it facilitates. These are amazing, and awful numbers. And, of course, PP gets loads of money from Congress, and through the Obama Administration, both directly and indirectly. This is like giving the Nazi’s a government allowance for providing full employment at its concentration and forced work camps. Of all the companies and organizations in America, Planned Parenthood must rank at the top as the most overtly evil. Anyone who sees the “other services” as worthy of public support (and of the very mild responses of America’s bishops) is guilty of wilful negligence, of sprinking perfume on a dung heap. If the Catholic Church cared about abortion, it would do all it could to put PP out of business. But this will not happen because — through Obama and his ilk — abortion providers have a greater will, such that abortion rights is becoming mainstream, as a foundation of all “womens’ rights”. Even the Republican Party is saying to stay away from such “social issues” to win elections in the future. But, there is no way to cover this up, although the Bishops (and USCCB) certainly try. More conferences, more numbing papers, and little action. However, it is commonly understood that because PP is so beloved by the money interests, they throw great parties. How many Catholic charities give to groups that give to PP? The answer is many, many. And, this will only increase because, again, the craven bishops are blind to this connection and do not want to appear anti-woman (especially to the media, which say nasty, awful things about these bad bishops if they actually try to act the role).
max I am disgusted by your comments….so they kill babies but who cares because they provide other “what you call good” services? It’s sick really….these sorts of views from many make me sick, I am tired of the lack of common sense and common decency we are hearing now a days, its’ no wonder our kids are growing up with the mentality that there is no wrong…
Why should we be surprised about this? It’s exactly what the Democrats told us they would be doing when they wrote their pro-abortion plank for the party. Anybody who voted Democrat is getting exactly what they voted for. Get over it.
While it is true that Sacramento Bishop Soto stated that the Diocese would no longer support Francis House, the renegade Franciscan-run church, St. Francis of Assisi in Sacramento still provides funding for Francis House and boldly proclaims this in their weekly church bulletins. Of course, this is a church that one time provided an intercessory prayer that asked for “freedom of choice”, and hosted Dignity Masses.
Marie – – Write to the appropriate Diocese Bishop.
Send him copies to document your information.
See “ON the SERVICE of CHARITY” on the Vatican web site – this is required legislation, not a recommendation.
The Vatican even tells you who to contact if the Bishop does not do his job.
I would expect no less from a man that I knew would not have the interests of Sacramento’s most vulnerable residents(the unborn children). Wickedness, when enshrined in policies that attack life, the family, the weak, those who can not stand up and speak for themselves, should not be encouraged.
Unfortunately, the voters seem hell-bent on placing the immoral into office. May God have mercy on us and may this man soon be removed from office. He does not deserve to represent the good people of our society.
Many US Bishops do not follow Pope Benedict’s instruction in Porta Fidei (Year of Faith staring with paragraphs 11) in which the Pope states we must study the “Catechism of the Catholic Church, Second Edition”.
If we do not know our Faith, we can not live by our Faith, and if we can not live by our Faith, we can not teach others our Faith.
In this instance the title of your article should be “to the victor go the spoiled.” Bera’s thinking and that of his staff reflects the violence in the community that takes lives rather than supports life.
How twisted our demoralized thinking has become as we move away from God in our world. One young man kills 20 young children and the world mourns. Adults kill babies in abortion clinics and we cheer and elect their sort to run our state and country.
To be accepted as a candidate for the Democratic party one must be an avowed pro-choice person. I think that we need to take a different approach to the fight for pro-life. Whatever we have been doing is not working. The right to abortion is settled law in this country and no matter who is chosen president will be able to overthrow that law. At one time, I thought that one way to overcome Roe v. Wade was to pack the Supreme Court with Catholics. We did that, and see what happened? We need new methods and leaders to change our approach. A recent PEW survey asked average Americans (whatever that is) what word came to mind when they heard the word “christian”. The answer was overwhelmingly “anti gay.” The next result was “anti abortion.” if I remember correctly. We Christians are now considered the party of hate. We need to change that, and it will take generations. I won’t live to see it. Most of Europe thinks we are nuts because we still talk about it. Any ideas for new approches?
Bob One,
Once again you show your true bent by accepting the accuracy of a PEW survey!
God bless, yours in Their Hearts,
Kenneth M. Fisher
I’m not sure what you think my true bent is, but be that as it may. On the other hand, I have been led to believe over the years that the PEW surveys were some of the best in the area of religion. Is that not true? If not, could you suggest another polling firm that is more accurate. Thanks.
Bob One occasionally asks, “Any ideas for new approaches?” Sure! #1 TEACH & FOLLOW “ALL” of the Teachings in the Catechism of the Catholic Church. This will help many Catholics to actually strive for personal holiness. People are starved for direction and truth. Personal holiness can transform the world. # 2 Abstain from mocking and taunting those who love the EF of the Mass. That behavior shows either a privation of the good knowledge necessary for salvation OR a deliberate direct attack on Christ. Both are not good. #3 Never place the ACLU or other Marxist causes above God.
It all gets back to catechesis, required by each Diocese Bishop.
If people do not know all the particulars of their Faith, they can not accurately defend it either.
Our Bishops should be screaming from the roof tops:
” Catholics read and study the CATECHISM of the CATHOLIC CHURCH, Second Edition.
And I will excommunicate ab homine those who call themselves Catholic and violate Church teachings per 1 Cor 5:11-13. I will “drive out the wicked persons from among you”. ”
Yet for the most part, all we hear is silence from most US Bishops.
They might tell us to pray, without catechesis.
They do catechize especially on life issues. However, people don’t listen. People want quick answers and solutions. See the bishops page on love and sexuality.
Bob One, just because the MSM and entertainment industry have set the terms of the engagement doesn’t mean we stop teaching the faith and proclaiming it. If they hated Jesus they will hate us. Are you trying to avoid the cross, and the shame associated with virtue in a sinful world? The sexual revolution will forever pit itself against the Church and assume its moral superiority over the Church. Yes, those least interested in Godly virtue will always nevertheless take the high moral ground. One way is to call Christians “anti-gay.” It’s a grade-school level argument, but that’s the level of intellectual discourse which satisfies most people today. Prayer, holiness, sacrifice, and charity to all; but steadfast holding to the truth.
Well, well, it looks like the demons are gathering more and more in the NEW Sacramento, where the DEMONCRATS have an unassailable majority. How fitting! Now all of the party’s pro-commie narcissism, paranoia and subversive intent can flourish and really “transform” us in the Barackian mode so ALL can be forced into making sure, among other things, the “wealth gets spread around.” This will be, of course, in the oh-so gentle “socialism with a human face” manner of the former collectivist head of France, one Francois Mitterand, for example.Such a delightful fellow. He wanted France to not have to suffer under some variant of Stalinism with its uber-brutal secret police, firing squads, brainwashing chambers, et al, but with the more REFINED version of socialism, a kind of “soft tyranny.” How humanitarian these folks are; they want, while they’re FURIOUSLY boiling us like the proverbial frog, so we’ll be done JUST RIGHT,and, at first, not mind the straightjackets they’re designing for us Amerikans. First we’re condtioned to NOT MIND the fact that they remove GOD FROM PUBLIC SCHOOLS, then these noxious powers that be pass Supreme Court decisons ELMINATING God’s influence from daily secular life, Along the way, they pass laws that legitimize abortifacient contraception, so it’ll largely be a non-issue, which it pretty much is now, even among Catholic women. Then comes the piece de reistance, ROE V. WADE,”legalizing” the slaughter of the unborn, and then the penultimate cause celebre, LEGALIZATION of “gay marriage,” desperately trying to mainstream sexual perversion, and all of this being rammed down our collective throats by subtle and not-so-subtle spin, agit-prop and flattening- of- the- will- to- resist societal pressure, all the while screaming “hater” at those of us who choose to resist this onslaught, A pox on all of them! It’s very clear we are being subjected in the name of radical egalitarianism to “get with the progarm,” ’cause it’s futile to resist. And it’s very obvious that Bera, Timmeraraju and Whitmore are all cut out of the same collectivistic cloth. Answer to them: VIVA CRISTO REY! Down with your moldy socialism. Freedom based in Judeo-Christian morality is the way. GOD BLESS ALL, MARKRITE
