The following comes from an April 27 Valley Catholic post by A.W. Strawa, Co-Chair of Catholic Green Initiative, Office of Social Ministries:
“If objective information suggests that serious and irreversible damage may result, a project should be halted or modified, even in the absence of indisputable proof.” – Pope Francis
In his encyclical, Laudato Si’, Pope Francis says that there is ample evidence that certain human activities are endangering the planet and its inhabitants. He links environmental degradation and the plight of the poor and marginalized. “It is my hope that this encyclical letter … can help us to acknowledge the appeal, immensity and urgency of the challenge we face” [15].
So it was heartening when members of the international community met in Paris last December at the Community of Parties (COP21) to negotiate an agreement to take action to keep global warming below 2 degrees Celsius above the baseline temperature set in 1880, even though these actions are non-binding. The question is “What will a 2-degree warmer world look like?” New research from Dr. James Hansen and 18 eminent scientists attempts to answer that question. (Hansen et al., Atmos. Chem. Phys., 16, 1–52, 2016.) Dr. Hansen is on staff at the Cornell University Earth Institute and former head of NASA’s Goddard Institute of Space Sciences. He and his colleagues used a combination of paleoclimate data, climate modeling, and observations to examine what effect of a 2-degree Celsius global warming might be on ice caps and sea level.
They found that melting ice from Greenland and Antarctica could not only result in sea level rises but could also alter local climate through increases in severe storms. These factors in turn could lead to more rapid ice melting. In science, this is called positive feedback. (In this case positive feedback is not a good thing.) They conclude that “multi-meter sea level rise would become practically unavoidable, probably within 50–150 years.” Previous estimates of the sea level rise due to melting ice did not consider this feedback and underestimated the amount of sea level rise. This latest report confirms many other recent studies showing that most models are underestimating future sea level rise.
The immediate impact of sea level rise is that coastal cities like Miami, New York, and New Orleans will flood more often and more severely, endangering and displacing millions of people. As seawater reaches farther inland, it can cause destructive erosion, flooding of wetlands, contamination of aquifers and agricultural soils, and lost habitat for fish, birds, and plants.
This research is only the latest example of science telling us that the effects of global warming are occurring more quickly than previously thought. As Pope Francis points out in his encyclical, it is the poor who will bear the brunt of these effects and future generations who will have the burden of fixing the problems. It is time for us to heed the Saint Francis pledge to pray, act, and advocate to stop the burning of fossil fuels and combat climate change.
This is in the Diocese of San Jose. The Diocesan Catholic Green Initiative is a total joke and waste of diocesan resources. The diocese touts stuff like this, meanwhile rank heresy is being promoted in the diocese’s Catholic schools and among the clergy. The heterodox Fr. Jon Pedigo hails from this diocese, and Mitty high school is located there. It doesn’t take much digging to realize that the bishop is out to lunch and that the diocese is promoting leftism and modernism instead of faithful Catholicism.
In honor of Margaret Thatcher’s memory, favorite quotes from the Iron Lady have popped up everywhere. “Global warming ‘provides a marvelous excuse for worldwide, supra-national socialism.’”
Our Lady of Fatima, pray for us!

When the Pope and his climate change comrades get their way and the price of energy skyrockets, its reliability degrades (Venezuela anyone), the blackouts begin, the use of proper cooling (the Pope dislikes the overuse of air conditioning) declines, then truly “it is the poor who will bear the brunt of these effects’!
God controls the Universe. He made it. It is ‘little mans hubris’ to assume he is great enough to actually add a hair to his collective head much less change God’s creation in an unintended way. The only ‘act of creation’ shared by His mercy & grace with us is the gift of creating another human being. & take a hard look at how a secular agenda has screwed that up with abortion ‘almost’ on demand. Is it no wonder God keeps us intentionally limited in the creating area? It is simple. I believe only God is God & Climate change = HOKUM. (But it is an excuse for worldwide socialism, per M. Thatcher.)
change God’s creation in an unintended way? Um . . . Adam and Eve . . . original sin?
A great movie was screened on Monday called “Climate Hustle.” It showed that there is no scientific consensus, and that many scientists that hopped off the bandwagon were smeared, blacklisted, or fired. What the movie barely touched on, however, was the motive behind promoting this climate hysteria. There’s an agenda at work, and it involves sharply higher taxes, severely restricted freedom, and a massive reduction in population. This is the apex of the Culture of Death, and it’s a shame that the Catholic Church has bought into it.
Lunacy.
Satanic attempt to divert Church hearts, minds, and treasure to inane issues of no consequence. Better that the bishop focus on returning his lost sheep to Catholic Tradition.
This simple chart and article should dispel the myth of environmental “science”–but you know that it won’t.

From the Pew: You stole my favorite line, “God controls the Universe”. Unfortunately, Francis and his comrades don’t seem to get it. Perhaps the earth savers should watch George Carlin inform us polluters about saving the earth:
The diabolical climate change agenda is about population control blaming humans for the so called climate change. Do not believe a word they are saying.
It seems to me that the Church has Much bigger problems to deal with than “Climate Change”
There will be no Church on earth if we don’t confront human create climate change.
PROBLEM: Earth getting warmer
SOLUTION: More power and money to the Government
PROBLEM: Earth getting cooler
SOLUTION: More power and money to the Government
PROBLEM: Earth in homeostasis
SOLUTION: More power and money to the Government
I see a pattern emerging ……
After viewing a documentary on pagan religious rituals in Haiti, I came to the firm conclusion that anthropogenic Global Warming/Climate Change is really just White Folk’s Voodoo.
. . . Also, the smooth rhythmic dancing of the Haitians was rather charming, whilst the frantic backpedaling and jerky choreographed movements of the White Climate Changers is most tiresome.
Fossil fuels naturally occur in sedimentary rock by the transformation of organic materials over geologic time. It sounds like this is part of natural law, law created by the Almighty. Did God make a mistake when He created these fuels? Why are the Pope and other global warming fanatics so against these fuels when used responsibly? Didn’t God place all these creations of his on earth for man’s use (use, not misuse)?
