Additional observations Little Flower Haven is an assisted living facility operated by the Carmelite sisters in La Mesa. The Carmelites first came to La Mesa in 1938; the current chapel was built in 1966. The Carmelites are a traditional community, and wear full habits (visit https://www.carmeldcj.org/). The community was founded by a Polish nun and convert to the Catholic faith, Blessed Maria Teresa of St. Joseph (1855-1938), and combines contemplative prayer and apostolic service. The Little Flower Haven is one of four convents of the sisters.
If I remember while living in San Diego and attending the TLM at Holy Cross Cemetery, Little Flower Haven also had a TLM or Novus Ordo in Latin?
Where’s max or mackz? We haven’t heard from him in a while. Maybe he is preparing for the conclave. Wouldn’t that be a kick in the head?
I am indeed preparing for the conclave. Just haven’t been invited! So I’ll pray for them here at home…
Any male Catholic that is not a heretic or schismatic and not guilty of simony can be elected Pope.
Anonymous,
That used to be the case, but it is not so anymore. A person has to be an ordained priest to be elected Pope now!
God bless, yours in Their Hearts,
Kenneth M. Fisher
Kenneth, must the new Pope be a cardinal? I’ve always assumed this, since only they are present in the Sistine Chapel during the election, and I just took it for granted that only a man present during the election could accept the office.
Thanks for your comments on Little Flower Haven. Please note that every Friday night we have services for the sanctification of priests, religious and all vocations, including Stations of the Cross 6:30, Mass 7:00 & Eucharistic Adoration 7:30 – 8:30, everyone is welcome.
God bless, Fr Dave
Thank you Father. I heard you had a youth mass as well? I don’t see the info for that here. On Sundays the Mass is at 9am? Well then I’ll try to visit when I can as well….God bless you Father!
Hi we are looking for a senior living community for my Mom. She is 92, and can pretty much take care of herself. She attends Holy Trinity Catholic Church in El Cajon…. goes to Mass daily, still drives herself around. Can anyone tell me about the senior living community here?
