One of the US’s primary Catholic advocacy groups has launched a provocative ad campaign criticizing Vice President Kamala Harris for supporting sex-change surgeries for children funded by taxpayers’ dollars.
The video ads by CatholicVote, reported to be the largest and most significant Catholic advocacy group in the country, began airing on 16 September, at the start of the week, in four key swing states – Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Nevada and Michigan – with the intent to “target Catholic voters and households with children”, reports the New York Post, which acquired exclusive access to the ads.
The ads, which are estimated to have cost in the region of six figures and which, like most pugilistic political ads in the US these days, do not pull any punches, cite Medicaid data that illustrate the number of sex-change surgeries performed on children in various states across the US.
The video’s voice-over lists the number of children impacted in a particular state, while describing underage girls having “their breasts completely removed”, how “underage girls underwent hysterectomies”, and listing “sex change operations attempting to make young boys into girls” and “penis amputations”.
The ad continues: “Sound weird? Disgusting? It is. And you’re paying for it.”
“Kamala Harris supports these taxpayer-funded sex-change operations. A vote for Harris: a vote for medical experiments on kids,” the voice-over goes on to say.
The New York Post notes that the Harris-Biden administration recently reaffirmed its stance on children being allowed to undergo transgender surgery – funded by US taxpayers – as long as a child’s parents and doctors approve of it.
While the administration has said it believes the surgery should typically be done for adults, it has also said that it won’t stop children from undergoing the life-altering procedures if the above conditions are met.
The Post cites an email, obtained by The Advocate, in which Neera Tanden, director of the White House Domestic Policy Council, states:
“We continue to fight state and national bans on gender-affirming care, which represents a continuum of care, and respect the role of parents, families and doctors – not politicians – in these decisions.”
Since becoming the Democratic presidential nominee, Harris has not laid out a campaign policy on transgender surgeries, or one that differs from the policy pursed by the administration she has been part of as vice president.
“Most people have no idea of the size, scope and money involved in the trans agenda being pushed on our kids,” Brian Burch, president of CatholicVote, told the Post.
“Physically healthy boys and girls are having their genitals and sexual organs destroyed, and Kamala Harris and her Democratic allies in the Senate not only thinks that’s acceptable but are forcing taxpayers to pay for it….”

As a Catholic, I vote my conscience. I do not vote from ignorance or hate generated by fear of the “other”.
The above article prevents you from voting out of ignorance.
Luisa, what does your conscience tell you about mutilating children?
I mean that as a serious question.
Good for Catholic Vote for running ads in battleground states. Catholics for Catholics is another wonderful Catholic website: http://www.cfoc.com.
Restrainer: Correction Catholic for Catholics is: http://www.cforc.com. I forgot to put the r.
Thanks, Restrainer! Looks great!
Bishop Athanasius Schneider’s recent sermon at Star of the Sea Church in San Francisco is now available on youtube.
I would have made this ad more explicit: Want grandchildren? A vote for Kamala Harris is a vote to sterilize your kids.
Mindless, incompetent, immoral Kamala Harris was a “DEI” pick by Biden, as VP, and a “DEI” criteria unfortunate pick by the Democratic Party, for a POTUS candidate. She was never chosen correctly on the basis of outstanding intelligence, talent, leadership, or a fine track record of great accomplishments. Harris has been a Black Woman “DEI” puppet, since the beginning of her misfit, immoral and incompetent California political career. The immoral, incompetent Harris-Walz “DEI” Administration, if it occurs, will be a horrific, Satanic evil– a “Californiacated,” lawless, sinful, crime-drenched, dope addiction and homeless-ridden, illegal alien-infested, mindless and immoral, leftist-education-camp-indoctrinated wasteland and sewer, from coast to coast, in America.
Harris-Walz will destroy America: You are right. America will be done like dinner.
How about a fine, outstanding, highly-intelligent, highly-accomplished black woman as a political leader, a deeply devout, traditional Christian woman who is an older, proven role model leader, uncompromisingly pro life, pro Traditional (one man/one woman) marriage with family and children, traditional schools, tough as nails on crime, illegal aliens, drugs, violence, abortions, Planned Parenthood, premarital sex, sex-ed, LGBT and gender garbage, etc. (Old Testament style) following Project 2025? No more fatherless black (or white) boys getting into dope, crime, sexual sin, gay sex “marriage” and sins, violence, homelessness, etc. Much, much better.
I just saw an article in “The Catholic Thing” entitled, “Are American Catholics ‘Politically Homeless’?” This idea was taken from a recent “Crux” article in which the Pope suggested the same thing. Wonder if Catholics in other countries have felt the same way? Our Church is no longer a strong guiding light in the world, for religion and morality. As a result, faith in God and the practice of Christian Morality has tragically declined. How many other times, in the last century, have American Catholics had not one candidate or political party that stands for basic decency, for Christian faith, morality, and family values? I will re-read both articles from “Crux” and “The Catholic Thing.” At least, many of us have lots of company right now, in feeling “blue” about the upcoming election.
Breaking News: Vatican grants approval to Medjugorje Go to http://www.spiritdaily.com for the full story.
I disagree with Cdl. “Tucho” Fernandez. This is dishonest. His DDF Office must state that either the Medjugorje apparitions and messages were of the Blessed Virgin Mary– or were a fraud– possibly of diabolic or pagan origin. Either Catholics can trust religious pilgrimages and devotions at Medjugorje– or they should avoid it. If there seems to be miracles and healings occurring at Medjugorje– is this of a reliable Christian origin?
Restrainer, can you let us know what you think of the recent Vatican decision on Medjugorje? I just wrote a comment sharing my views. I feel very betrayed, because many years ago, I attended a big Catholic Medjugorje Conference, met the young Medjugorje seers, and Fr. Jozo Zovko. They gave impressive talks, and showed photos of the Communists’ tortures of poor Fr. Jozo, and his terrible wounds and scars– suffered for Christ, and for his Catholic religious faith. I felt so badly for him, and thought he must be quite courageous and heroic, a martyr for the Faith.
But as time went along, the so-called “Marian apparitions” seemed trivial, a waste of time, possibly a fraud. And the young seers seemed to grow up with little authentic religious devotion— unlike the three Fatima children, two of whom are canonized Saints. The Medjugorje children did not even jump to religious vocations of a life of monastic prayer, close to Christ and Pur Lady, and the one boy who tried to study for the priesthood failed, did not even try to become a Brother– and went home, got lots of money, fancy cars, and married a worldly girl who I think was an actress or model. That doesn’t make sense. The other children grew up and got married and had kids. The grown seers who continued to have so-called ‘Marian apparitions” did not seem very holy, and the messages they received seemed trivial and a waste of time– possibly fraudulent, pagan ghosts, or spiritualistic, “Ghostly” visitations(??) I don’t know.
Worse– I read that Fr. Jozo and two other priests who worked with the young seers were convicted of clerical sex abuse. One former priest, Fr. Vlasic, a former spiritual director for the young visionaries, was laicized and excommunicated for spreading false, heretical teachings, and having a sexual affair with a nun. Fr. Jozo Zovko’s priestly faculties were removed by his bishop due to clerical sex abuse, and disobedience, and he was barred from the priesthood, some years ago. Zovko is still suspended, to this day.
So, I felt betrayed by attending this Medjugorje Conference, several decades ago– and also, viewing the film, “Gospa,” and receiving some Medjugorje supposedly “miraculous” holy trinkets. I wondered if there were any other highly acclaimed, would-be martyrs of the Church, who had committed foul deeds, like clerical sex abuse— after being cruelly tortured for the Faith, bearing painful wounds and scars, standing steadfastly for Christ? How could anyone do such a horrible thing? Zovko was the original parish priest at the Medjugorje church which the child seers attended. Wonder if he still suffers from those awful wounds from the evil Communist torturers, that we all saw? And what about the horrific wounds of his poor, suffering clerical sex abuse victims?
Reply to Restrainer: Although I don’t consider myself an expert on Medjugorje, Pope John Paul II had this to say: Medjugorje is the continuation of Fatima. Mary’s coming to Medjugorje was an answer to his prayers. Medjugorje is “the Spiritual Heart” and “Hope for the World.” Our Lady of Medjugorje will save America. Today people have lost the supernatural. They find it in Medjugorje. In 1985, Benedict XVI had had expressed clear thought on the separation of the attestations of the possible “supernatural character” of the phenomenon from the spiritual fruits.
Thanks, Restrainer. As for me, I trust the Fatima child seers– but not the Medjugorje visionaries.
Not sure, exactly, how the Vatican figures things. I have seen and heard of many different cases of reported apparitions, healings and miracles, both locally and worldwide, that may never have received approval from top clerics, and some were even prohibited. Nevertheless, conversions, healings and miracles also occurred in these cases, as well as vocations to become a priest or a nun. I have been persuaded– and in a few cases, reluctantly dragged– to several of these religious events, and when a purported healer or visionary was prohibited by the archbishop, put my foot down and declined to go. I have been very skeptical at highly emotional religious events, with healings occurring, along with Charismatic-style “dramas” — with “glossolalia”– very goofy, to my way of thinking. Some of the women at these events have stated that they received abilities to heal, from God.
I never really knew if it was true, or if these women were just overly excited and confused. I once attended some local healing services, led by a priest and a couple of purported visionaries, at a little Italian church, in which the seers supposedly received messages from the Blessed Mother, and then offered healings to everyone. Others got healings, and had conversions, and etc., but I just watched and wondered if it was true. Later, these healing services were stopped. I never knew the truth of any of it.There also used to be different priests who claimed to have received Charismatic healing gifts— but I never knew if it was true. I have also been persuaded to come and see other types of purported healers, mystics and visionaries, in different Catholic churches, and attend healing Masses, etc. People usually get very excited about all of that kind of thing, and claim that they have benefitted from such religious events, and that many “fruits” have occurred — so it has got to be true, for them, or they will be very upset. It’s all OK with me— but when the Vatican gets involved, then, things get real serious, and I really want to know the truth. The “fruits” of many things may seem good, but what if some healers, mystics, visionaries, etc — start to claim that they talk to Jesus or Mary every day, and they even claim to give healings to people– but some of their purported messages that they claim to have received, are contrary to Catholic teachings? And next, the local bishop or archbishop forbids the whole thing– and some people argue with him, still claiming that there have been “many fruits,” to “justify” it all. Well, I really prefer to stick with the carefully documented visions, healings and miracles that are fully Church-approved, and are very reliable, with no confusion, and no conflict with Catholic teaching, and no evil, sinful Catholic clergy or laymen involved (like the shocking clerical sex abuse cases in Medjugorje)– with only very reliably good, holy, saintly, gifted people involved.
None of the Medjugorje visionaries were victims of clerical sex abuse. The Medjugorje Conference I attended was in the 1990s.
