On Friday’s broadcast of MSNBC’s “Katy Tur Reports,” California Lt. Gov. Eleni Kounalakis (D) said that people should “be prepared to live in defiance of these six people who think that they have the right to tell you what you can do with their body.” And the court is “undermining their legitimacy.” Because it isn’t “legitimate for them to take that right away from us. They cannot tell millions of American women what to do with their bodies.”
Kounalakis stated, “[M]y message to the women and to anyone seeking their reproductive freedom across this country is come to California, you will have that freedom here. But, secondly, be prepared to live in defiance of these six people who think that they have the right to tell you what you can do with their body….
“This is a constitutional right that women have exercised for 50 years. I don’t believe that it is legitimate for them to take that right away from us. They cannot tell millions of American women what to do with their bodies. This is not going to stop abortion, it is only going to make it more dangerous and harder to access. But women know, they know they have a God-given right to autonomy over their body and they’re going to seek it out and Clarence Thomas is not going to tell them that they can’t.”

Your knowledge of the constitution IS toast. Have you ever read the Ninth Amendment? Rights exist that are not explicitly enumerated in the Constitution.
YFC I am not sure what your point is. Is it to say that abortion is covered by the ninth amendment through the right of privacy? If this is not your meaning please explain. As I see it, the 9th does not give right to abortion, it only gives you the right to do what you want with your body. As soon as you start talking about another person’s body, say, the unborn baby, the 9th no longer applies. Notice the left, for that reason, deflects discussion of that other life inside the womb.

It astonishes me how ignorant the Left is about the Constitution and about the original Roe decision. There seem to be no intelligent, rational people on the Left. All they do is emote.
There is no Constitutional right to abortion. It’s not in the Constitution. You want that right in the Constitution? Then pass a Constitutional amendment.
There is likewise no Constitutional right to same-sex marriage. That should be the next flawed decision to be reversed. Maybe next year?

Justice Thomas truly is an American Treasure, considering his life journey and faith journey, through the school of hard knocks and of persistent, hard work, coming forth as a Justice in such clarity of thought on significant issues, now setting the grounds for all of us to evangelize and convert society on the issue of the sanctity of life, and, through his point about “due process”, eventually point out the significance of traditional marriage and significance of it’s permanence in the raising of children, a bedrock of society, and how this is undermined, as prophesied by Pope Paul VI, through contraception
What? “This is a constitutional right that women have exercised for 50 years.” And the constitutional right for children in the womb had been exercised for 150 years until some old white liberal SCOTUS men made a law against those children and people followed like unquestioning sheep for 50 years. Kounalakis’ thinking is extremely childish and immature. A child is a big responsibility! A child is created by Almighty God. We have the God-given responsibility to protect all life, from conception to natural death.
