Center for Public Policy raised new concerns about a push to mandate gender-neutral toy aisles. Assembly Bill 1084 (Low, D – Silicon Valley) has just cleared its first committee in the California Legislature and is moving forward.
AB 1084 would require large retailers to identify a section of their toy departments as gender-neutral. The bill’s author has explained that signage such as “boys” and “girls” is stigmatizing to some children. In a legislature dominated by radical leftists, AB 1084 sailed through its first committee hearing today….
In an official analysis prepared by committee staff and released prior to the hearing, proponents offered a surprising new source of authority for gender-neutral toy aisles: The Equality Act currently pending in the U.S. Congress. Committee staff disclosed that AB 1084 is sponsored by a group called The Phluid Project, which describes itself as part of “a movement of humans committed to challenging the ethos of traditions past that inhibit freedom and self expression….”
The official committee analysis for AB 1084, again quoting The Phluid Project, further explains the need for the Bill as follows: “The rising voice if [sic] today’s youth reject gender binaries and desire an all-encompassing space, both physically and virtually, that allows them to wear what makes them feel good and express themselves with freedom and authenticity. This bill begins the process of eliminating dated social constructs, allowing youth to be creative, curious and authentic, free to be who the [sic]want to be and unleashing their full potential. Corporations will benefit from this movement as youth, and their parents, look to find gender nonspecific options as they grow up in a new and evolving world. We constantly live in a state of unlearning and relearning. This bill carries us all into the future, further creating safe and affirming shopping spaces throughout the entire state of California.”

There is no reason why a boy can’t play with a doll nor a girl play with a fire engine.
Do you think a boy should grow up to “marry” a man or a girl grow up to “marry” a woman?
Do you believe that there are innate differences between males and females?
No one stops a girl or her parents from buying a toy fire engine or a boy or his parents from buying a doll. Why must stores be forced to comply with some new “woke” order from the government?
Can’t store owners and parents determine this without government interference?
I suppose it’s how the boy “plays” with the doll.
It’s stuff like this that makes refugees from California flood little places like Boise and Twin Falls, Idaho. Soon California will have driven all of the opposition away and they’ll have what they want.
Perhaps the politicians and others who support this kind of thing could stop supporting feminism, as it’s not “gender neutral”.
I have not seen toy aisles marked girl or boy for a very long time.
But, it is quite the virtue signal for Democrats and a good campaign move for our Assemblyman, I mean AssemblyPerson, the confused Evan Low.
Many are trying to get virtue signalling qualified for the upcoming Olympics in Communist China.
I mean, we can no longer play baseball in Georgia, but, of course, we can do lots of sports in China while they engage in genocide against Muslims and severely oppress Christians, Buddhists and members of Falun Gong.
I do not know about anyone else, but I look for the women’s section in stores and on line when buying clothes as I know the men’s section is going to have clothing that is way too big for me and not cut for my shape. Why should I, or anyone else, have to wade through all that if men and women’s sections are combined? That does not help any of us at all. Such things as garden gloves do not matter as they can be used for both, but not items like regular clothing. Common sense, which is much lacking in a lot of our politicians, needs to be used here.
