The state of California is taking action in an attempt to stop a controversial Chino Valley Unified School District policy involving transgender students from being enacted.
Attorney General Rob Bonta on Monday announced that the state Department of Justice is suing the CVUSD board over its requirement that parents be notified if their child asks to use a name or pronoun other than that listed on their birth certificate or school records, something described as a “forced outing policy.”
“The policy also requires notification if a student requests to use facilities or participates in programs that don’t align with their sex on official records,” Bonta’s office said in a press release.
The policy was approved last month with a 4-1 vote, despite a decidedly mixed response from those in attendance at the meeting.
School boards nationwide have been urged by conservative parents and groups to enact such policies, though their efforts haven’t always been successful at higher levels….
Supporters of such policies, including CVUSD Board President Sonja Shaw, said last month they are intended to support “parental rights.”
“We’re going to safeguard parental rights,” Shaw said. “That is a constitutional right and we’re going to make sure that our parents at Chino Valley know they’re sending their kids here to be taught, not to be anything else.”

It sounds like California needs a new Attorney General. California is dying a slow death. It needs a new everything.
The Attorney General of California is too woke to wake up.
Evil
Parents protect your children!
Transgenderism is of the devil. Demons are trying to foist this on America. I have a remote acquaintance who is male but thinks he’s a woman. I think he’s possessed. But he pretends to be an agent of light since he’s left the Catholic Church and is now online as a Christian pastor who preaches “luv” and “tolerance” and “welcoming” against the “hateful” Christian denominations that reject transgenderism and gayness. Demons are trying to pervert human nature and Christianity to do the devil’s work.
Rob Bonta is a traitor to his own ethnicity – of course he supports the sodomification of California
This lawsuit is utterly ridiculous. Seems to me if a child is changing his or her name and sex in school that sooner or later the whole neighborhood will know about it. Kind of hard to figure out who is outing whom. The school seems to be doing a lot of it by telling everyone at the school, that so and so is now so and so, and John, a boy, is now Henrietta, a girl, so how can they sue the parents for what they have already done themselves. Are they going to “sue” the whole neighborhood if they inform the parent.
Good luck (said factiously), Bonita, I think you are caught in your own trap.
Right to privacy and right to receive a public education without discrimination.
This is what happens when you extend rights to minors.
Whose children are they?
Why should the teachers have to get involved in a families issues?
I think you misunderstood my post, unless you believe surgeons can actually change a child’s sex without any serious harm to their bodies. They cannot. Telling a child he can change his sex by using opposite sex hormones or mutilating his body in surgery is child abuse. We are not talking about corrective surgery for a child born with a genital defect or one who was mutilated by an accident. Parents have a right to know what is happening to their children and stop such mutilations. I was just saying Bonita’s lawsuit is ridiculous. He is guilty of what he accuses others.
None of this has anything to do with surgery.
The lawsuit is because the school board is making a policy that violates the student’s right to privacy and the right to receive a public education with out discrimination.
Usually, in America, minors do not have many rights. The state, rightly or wrongly, is standing up for these two rights. For minors.
I think it is on shaky ground.
And I think it cannot and probably is not applied to every student in every situation and will open them up to more lawsuits,
We will have to see what happens.
The second part (Whose children are they?) means if you are responsible for your children, you are responsible. Not the school or its teachers.
If Harvey Milk is included in schoolbooks, the whole story needs to be told as is written in books like “When the Wicked Seize a City” by Mc Ilhenny. Perverted men even threaten to sodomize Mc Ilhenny’s son just because he fired an organist in his church who was in an illicit relationship with another man. The pastor had won his case in court, but the wicked — and yes I said wicked — did not accept that. Then came the AIDS epidemic after decent nurses and doctors had warned them of unhealthy behavior.
You want that in a schoolbook?
And it has nothing to do with the subject.
Harvey Milk should not be in schoolbooks in the first place, but some are putting him there. He should have nothing named after him either, as he had an underaged lover and took money for his causes from the “Rev.” Jim Jones who had all the people murdered at Jonestown by forcing them to commit suicide. Jones was fooling around with both men and women.
No, I do not want all that in schoolbooks for children and teens, but if the subject is brought up to older teens, who can read newspapers and tabloids just at grocery stores and will ask questions, the parents need to know how to present the whole truth to their children at grade level. If the subject of Milk and Jim Jones is brought up in college textbooks, the whole story needs to be told. The mutilation of children though surgery is not “off the subject”. It is a deliberate plan to sterilize our children and grandchildren.
Correction to last post: “facetiously”.
A correction to last line first post: it is “Bonta” not “Bonita”, and the word “facetiously” is in the first post, too, not the latter one. I need to get off of here as I am too far away from my computer screen and having too much trouble seeing the letters.
