Job Description

The Parish Business Manager is a senior leadership position in Sacred Heart Parish. This person manages the parish's temporal sphere with a pastoral understanding. The person coordinates implementation of the parish mission and vision through managing and delivering strategic goals and objectives of the parish in conjunction with mission group leads. The person oversees the financial, administrative, communicative, and supervises the administrative staff.

Essential Qualities:

Professional and personal integrity consistent with Catholic teaching.
Approach decision-making beginning with presumption of what is possible incorporating openness, compassion, and fiscal responsibilities/realities.
Ability to build bridges within parish staff and groups, diocesan personnel, and wider community.
Capacity to ensure compliance with all Diocese of San Jose policies and procedures, attuned to the vision of the Pastor
Willingness to continuously grow in ministry by actively participating in Sacred Heart community's activities via the various mission groups in serving the broader community.
Availability to maintain a work schedule that maximizes accessibility to staff and parishioners.
Good written and verbal skills.
Must be able to maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities Include:

Supervision of support staff.
Liaison to the accounting and bookkeeping group,
Managing finances and records,
Supervising all parish operations,
Liaising with the diocese in all administrative and financial matters,
Managing the physical resources of the parish,
Staffing and leading appropriate committees,
Coordinates parish communications.

Qualifications:

Qualifications include a business-related degree (BA or MA) and 5-10 years of related work experience.
Understanding of Religious Non-profit enrichment.
Practicing Catholic preferred.
