Part-Time Thrift Store Donations Stockperson

POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Thrift Store Donations Stockperson assists with the daily duties of Thrift Store maintenance and donation intake.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Customer Service

Promote excellence in the customer service experience for all visitors, customers and volunteer to the thrift store.

Greet customers entering thrift store, answer questions, takes accurate messages, and relays communication in a timely manner.

Promotes cooperation, and a helpful attitude with co-workers, visitors and volunteers, and a
constructive positive work environment within the wrap desk area.

Promote excellence in the customer service experience for all visitors, customers and volunteer to the thrift store.

Store Donations

Assist with donation intake.

Assist customers on an as-needed basis with carry-outs/ heavy items, (10 lbs. or more).

Kept donation area walkways clear of boxes, bags and other obstacles.

Keep back of building clear of donation items and other types of trash and debris.

Maintenance and Housekeeping

Aware of loss prevention issues

Light ‘handy man’ duties, i.e., replacement of light bulbs, tighten screws, change vacuum bags & belts, picture hanging, putting together furniture, and other like items.

Monitor store daily for cleanliness

Vacuum the facility (minimum 3 times per week, based on need)

Clean restrooms daily and replenish supplies as needed.

Empty trash receptacles

Clean glass doors and cases

Agency Engagement/Procedures

Collaborates and communicates with all Catholic Charities staff and volunteers to remain consistent in policies and procedures.

Keep Store Manager apprised issues, complaints and/ or concerns so that she/ he can resolve in a timely manner.

Education, Experience and Skills Required:

Required, Bilingual English/Spanish.

Preferred, High school diploma or GED.

Preferred, 6 months to 1 yr. related experience working in a retail/ resale store.
