Join the Diocese of San Diego for our annual Season of Creation Mass and Laudato Si’ Awards Reception! Our celebrant this year is San Diego’s Bishop Michael Pham!
Bring your parish/school/household Laudato Si’ Action Plans as an offering in response to the “Cry of the Earth” and receive a blessing to continue in this ministry.
Bring produce from your parish/school garden or your own backyard to share with our local food banks in response to the “Cry of the Poor,” as we kick off Bishop Pham’s new “Common Home Common Ground” initiative gardening and farming our Catholic land in an effort to sew [sic] beauty and feed our community.
You are encouraged to report your faith community action at bit.ly/LSAction25-26–no action is too big or small! At this same link, you may also nominate anyone, who has taken outstanding individual action for Laudato Si’ award consideration.

Bring a Pachamama too!
Bishop Pham has phorpheited the phaith. The season of creation is phake.
This just makes me want to vomit. The San Diego Diocese is like an anti-OCIA program with its looniness.
Here’s the truth: the parish “care for creation” group are the parish democrats, and the “pro life” group are the parish republicans. When a bishop or a priest throws his weight behind “environmental ministry” he’s telegraphing that he’s a democrat and sees his ministry as a religious outlet for his democrat politics. Same for bishops or priests who throw their weight behind “all are welcome” LGBTQ ministries.
Although there is a legitimate natural law and Christian virtue in being wise environmental stewards, it’s not the be-all and end-all of Catholic Faith, and not every secular environmental cause is wise or Christian. Fossil fuels are not evil, for example. God provided the dinosaurs so we would have a source of energy millions of years later. The earth cyclically warms up and cools down all on its own without human intervention.
These silly “Laudato Si” groups and gardens and awards. Does the diocese have “Humanae Vitae” awards? Nope. The conclusion is easy to draw.
“Alien’s” comment is racist, ridiculing an Asian surname as if white names are normative. It is a racist offense as much as blackface is.
Jessica, go to Helios.
Woke is dead on arrival we can say whatever we want to its still a free country my dear.
Don’t they know that you’re not supposed to bring perishable food to a food bank? Food banks only want nonperishable items. Besides no food bank wants unsealed garden fresh food from God only knows who’s garden. It might be contaminated.
Liberals are so naive and stupid.
It depends on the food bank whether they take fresh produce or not, and most of the produce in our stores is contaminated with something, especially insecticide. One has to wash it off carefully unless prewashed, and often even that produce is recalled for some reason. Glass was found in some bagged fried rice recently.
One of my favorite songs was the one that said, “Keep on want’en to live in a perfect world, but there ain’t no liv’n in a perfect world.” That is ever so true. Nevertheless, we must try our best.
wowwww look at their expensive apple watches
this mass is just left wing virtue signaling
i wrote to the link provided and told them i think the mass is wrong
I nominated President Donald Trump for the Laudato Si award:
President Trump has made America cleaner by getting many of the dirty Third World people out. Trash along the US/Mexico border has been reduced by over 90%. That deserves recognition and an award!
I’m sure you can come up with your own well-deserved nominations. They will have difficulty finding a better recipient than the President, though.
Malpractice of religion. Today, I am thinking of possible malpractice of the law. I agreed with the prosecution on the Clancy mistrial. The mother is a murderess. Period. Same as Lady Macbeth, in Shakespeare’s famous play, and evil Queen Medea, who had her naid murder her little children, so she could run away with Jason, the Greek hero, her new lover. All murderers are sick in the head. Adolf Hitler, Joseph Stalin, Charles Manson, the Muslim jihadist Al-Qaeda 9/11 murderers, Iranian radical Muslim leaders who have murdered thousands of their own people, etc. etc. Give them all a psychiatric test. Next, the Death Penalty. The Clancys are Catholics. I think that this murderess needs a psychiatric lockup for life– and no possible release. She is responsible for the murders of her three little children, and her suicide attempt. What do others think, about this case?
There is a particular provision in Massachusetts law that would seem to make a verdict of not guilty due to lack of criminal responsibility the proper outcome. Clancy’s defense is that, due to postpartum depression and medications, she had a mental defect at the time of committing the homicides that rendered her not criminally responsible.
Under Massachusetts law, and unlike in most other states, the defendant does not have to prove she lacked criminal responsibility due to mental defect. The prosecution in Massachusetts must prove beyond a reasonable doubt that she didn’t lack criminal responsibility. That’s a high bar for the prosecution to meet.
Because it’s extremely difficult to prove that negative, and given the circumstances and evidence, I think there is reasonable doubt that Clancy was criminally responsible, as Massachusetts defines that term, therefore under Massachusetts law Clancy should be found not guilty due to lack of criminal responsibility from a mental disease or defect. *Under Massachusetts law* is the crucial modifying phrase. The trial is about whether Clancy is guilty or not under Massachusetts law. It’s not about anything else.
People don’t want to hear that, but that’s probably what a correct application of Massachusetts law is.
There are many variations and adaptations.of the Greek myth of “Medea.” Euripedes wrote the fsmous tragic play, “Medea,” based on the myth. There is also a famous ballet, “Medea,” based on the Greek myth. In the original story, which many may be familiar with, Medea and Jason (of the “Golden Fleece”) marry, and she later kills their children out of revenge, when Jason runs off with another woman. Murderers are deranged, psychologically. They are not normal. In the Clancy case, the psychologically deranged murderer killed her own children. And then tried to commit suicide. They should hold another trial, that objectively focuses on these facts, with punishment for the guilty murderer, who committed the horrific crime of killing her own children. Makes me sick, the Clancys were Catholic parishioners.
The trial of murder should be about the murder, not about any medical excuses of the murderer. All murderers are deranged criminals. Clancy plotted the murders of her three children, as her husband went out to the store. Etc. Why did she not admit to horrific guilt and sorrow, and PLEAD GUILTY and be extremely penitent to God, for her horrific crimes?? Murder is a horrific sin and crime!! Her “illness” did not commit the murders. The “Devil” did not do it. She willfully plotted to do these unnatural, horrific crimes!! No moral conscience!!! Deranged mind!! Same as all murderers!! Read Dostoevsky’s “Crime and Punishment.” Massachusetts is full of idiot Democrat, “educated” liberal fools, destroying our society.
Alien, if a woman is “too sick” to care for her children, she responsibly tells her husband, and he takes her to the hospital. Maybe they will put her in the psychiatric ward at the hospital. The husband goes home, and calls his mom or other relatives, to come over and help care for the kids. Or take the kids to their home, to live there, for awhile. If the wife is crazy, the State should be notified, and the kids must be removed ASAP from the home, for their safety. The kids could be adopted to relatives, or placed with an adoption agency, by the State. A decent woman never sends her husband out to the store, so she can carry out her plot to kill the kids. Period. Clancy is a murderer. And she should have PLED GUILTY for her crimes of Murder. And cried out with guilt and remorse to God.
When I was young, the tradition in many families was that the mom of the new mother would come over and stay for a few weeks or a month, perhaps, and help her daughter with the new baby, her grandchild. As kids grew up, it was common to drop them off with grandparents or relatives, to spend the night, the weekend, or a couple of weeks during the summer. If a mom got sick, she would call her mom or her sister, or another relative, to take the kids– and her husband would take her to the hospital. If a mom really was too sick to care for her kids, other arrangements were quickly made. That was just common sense. I have a friend whose grown daughter got Long Term Covid-19. They were afraid she would die. So the mom immediately got on a plane, to go for a many months’ long stay at her daughter’s home, to help out.
Will Charlie Kirk’s murderer, Tyler Robinson, pleas “not guilty” by reason of insanity? Will there be jurors who would accept such a thing? What will be the outcome of this horrific assassination case? Hopefully, there will be no malpractice of law, in this trial.
My friend’s daughter, who got Long Term Covid a few years ago, attended DePaul University in Chicago, the largest Catholic university in America, and the alma mater of both of Pope Leo’s parents. Unfortunately, DePaul U., run by the Vincentian Fathers, is no longer faithfully Catholic. Anyway, while at school, my friend’s daughter met and married a student whose family had immigrated from Eastern Europe, and were Orthodox. Her husband got a university teaching job as a Math professor at SUNY (State University of New York) in Albany, NY. My friend, now an elderly widow, has five grown children, and many grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her family is very close, no matter where they live. They all figure out ways to get together once a year– the whole tribe!– to celebrate Christmas together.
My friend’s daughter has a son, now in his late teens, who is musically gifted. At age 7, he was placed in a beautiful, very advanced boychoir, and received a great deal of excellent musical training. He also, as a boy soprano, sang some beautiful solos. Fortunately, he didn’t get sick with COVID-19, during the pandemic.
A little boy with a beautiful voice, singing in a boychoir either at the Vatican, or anywhere, is a treasured gift of God. There is a now- older Cantor, a devout Catholic, with a beautiful voice, who has sung for many years at a local SF Catholic church. He and his wife both sing at the SF Opera. A great gift to the Church! My maternal grandfather, born in the late 1890s to a musical family in Naples, Italy, attended Jesuit schools, and was a Jesuit boarding school student when old enough. The Jesuits took the boys every Saturday afternoon to the local opera house– a cherished Italian pastime. They all just loved it! There is a very special Jesuit church in Naples, the Chiesa del Gesu Nuovo. It houses the tomb of the great “Holy Physician of Naples,” St. Giuseppe Moscati (1880-1927). He was a Third Order Franciscan who took a private vow of Chastity. A beautiful, top medical professor, and Doctor Saint to the poor. There is a wonderful movie and a book about his holy life. You can send petitions for St. Moscati’s intercession for healing, to the Jesuits at this church.
Anyone who is a Democrat could be not guilty by reason of insanity.
Care of God’s creation, gardening, farming, feeding our families good, nutritious food, and feeding the poor– all of that is very important. But we need more Catholic teaching, when we go to church. Not gardening teachings.
Do any of you realize that in many older prayer books from BEFORE Vatican II there are prayers for the blessing of land, farm equipment, eggs, produce, farm and other animals, etc. There were even masses said for plagues, famine, drought and so forth. These kinds of blessings are not new. I gave one of my relatives an older rural prayerbook when her family moved to a rural area. A Catholic priest came and blessed their land. Have you never had a car blessed?
I have done the same thing. Many years ago, I was an SPCA volunteer, and asked an elderly Dominican priest that I knew, if he could get out the Book of Blessings, and bless a certain kitty in need. I dressed up, brought the cat to the church, and the priest was waiting for us in the Sacristy, clad in an alb and stole, if I remember right, and performed the Blessing, with the big book. The Catholic Church has traditional blessings for many things. Many churches also have large containers of Holy Water, and you can fill a little bottle and take some home. They also have blessed salt, and blessed oils for healing, and will bless your candles at Candlemass, bless your home, lands, fields, produce, property, etc.
I just submitted a comment regarding the Clancy murder case. In my comment, I mentioned the chilling Greek play, about the tragic love story of Queen Medea and the Greek hero, Jason. There are many adaptations of the original Greek myth. I quoted a story line from a different version than the original. In the original Greek play, Medea kills her children herself, out of revenge, because their father, Jason, has run off with another woman. Anyway– the Clancy trial should have focused on the chilling, Satanic murder of the three poor little children. Not on the murderesss mother’s mental state.
Bishop Pham is a decent man, but I think he has been vitiated by his predecessor, McElroy. He has turned out to be a weak leader with a need to please. Those traits are indicative of Impostor Syndrome (just my opinion). The “gardening and farming of our Catholic land” is a puerile expression and not fit for any purpose, and certainly not a lofty or holy purpose.
Is the Season of Creation concurrent with football season?
And don’t forget to set your clocks back this Fall.
You don’t want to be late or early for the Season of Creation.
Followed very closely by the Season of Recreation. Groovy!
Last week, I received a.lovely mailing from FSSP’s Our Lady of Guadalupe Seminary, in Nebraska. They recently ordained 12 men to the priesthood. Their seminary in Europe just ordained 13 men to the priesthood. The FSSP now has over 400 priests, altogether. Enclosed in the mailing, along with an envelope to send an offering for them, was a lovely Prayer for Vocations. The FSSP is fully recognized by the Vatican and Pope. They are not under the wrongful “Traditionis Custodes.” Also, it is worrisome, the upcoming Vatican celebration of the 10th anniversary of the heretical “Amoris Laetitia,” and the ongoing, ridiculous, “Synod on Synodality.” Plus, the wrongful “Fiducia Supplicans.”
