LMU has invited Bishop Robert Barron to give the annual Cassasa Lecture. Bishop Barron will deliver a free, public lecture on “Beauty and Evangelization” on Tuesday, January 24, 2017, at 7:00 p.m. in Roski Dining Commons, University Hall.
From the LMU website: “What is the relationship among the beautiful, the good, and the true? How do these concepts relate to evangelization? Join us at Loyola Marymount University for a lecture and discussion with Bishop Robert Barron, Episcopal Vicar of the Santa Barbara Pastoral Region in Los Angeles and founder of Word on Fire Catholic Ministries.”
An update was added to the page: “Due to overwhelming demand and limited capacity, registration for this event is now CLOSED.” A waitlist option is available (scroll down).
Mother Angelica’s relationship with God was “beautiful”, “good” and “true”. These concepts relate to evangelization because they infuse a true love for God. Mother Angelica always tackled the very difficult topics that many of our bishops shy away from and yet she still communicated/evangelized God’s love. Once again, One of the most effective ways to evangelize is to *first* be a respecter of God and not a first respecter of other men who can help you climb the ecclesial ladder. He who humbles himself before God by teaching the fullness of truth, will be exalted, NOT by men, but by God!
I think ‘jon’ looks at Bp. Barron and wishes the same route to higher office for himself. (Barron started as a Facebook and online celebrity. )
However it looks like the Diocese of San Jose is going to be appointing imams in the future, not ordain in priests or consecration bishops. (cf. Bp. McGrath and the SABA mosque story).
Folks, this comment by Anselm/Campion shows how much I am indeed living rent-free in these people’s brains. I haven’t even made a comment, and don’t intend to leave a comment here, and I am already mentioned. Just as well. As for the rest of his comments, there is absolutely no merit to it. Deserves no comment. Straight up.
