The following comes from a March 3 press release from Pacific Justice Institute:
A bill recently introduced in the California Legislature takes aim at other states with religious freedom protections.
AB 1887, by Assembly Member Low of Silicon Valley, forbids the state from paying travel expenses for most types of employees unless they are visiting states with LGBT-friendly laws. The bill claims to “strongly support” religious freedom but only to the extent it is deemed non-discriminatory. The bill is a response to clashes within the last few years between LGBT rights and the Religious Freedom Restoration Act, which is in place at the federal level and in some form in 21 states. Those states include both large states and popular convention destinations, such as Arizona, Florida, Illinois, Texas, Pennsylvania and Virginia to name a few. However, the bill does not appear to restrict the travel of members of the Legislature or their staffs.
Assembly Member Low has also introduced AB 1888, which would cut off student financial aid for colleges and universities, particularly religious institutions, that are not perceived to be LGBT-friendly.
Bob Hope commented, “I’ve just flown in from California, where they’ve made homosexuality legal. I thought I’d get out before they make it compulsory.” Discrimination used to mean to distinguish between things that are good and things that are not. For us Catholics homosexual desire and practice are not good things, and it is just to discriminate when people practice those things among other ethical and moral values. Bob Hope’s jest is coming to pass.
Not just for we Catholics, Father, but homosexuality is not good for any human. There may well come a time when God will again tire of sodomites and visit a horrible punishment upon them and instead of preference, they will find themselves decorating lampposts.
I would not want the wrath to come, so I offer chastity and the Church’s truth of sexuality to all who come to me in counseling and confession. Unfortunately our leaders do not do the same.
Ahh the gay fascism continues…

Kool Aid Anyone?
i think that this means the california legislature is giving us the blessing of self-imposed quarantine on their members’ ideological, moral and biological epidemics. who could ask for anything more? they won’t be showing up at out-of-state normal bakeries asking for products that offend the natural and give dark example to american youth.
Remember that boycotts work both ways.
If I’m not mistaken, I think 1888 is redundant. And 1887 seems like it is a very crude way to affect the policies of other states, at best, and actually harms LGBT interests, at worst. Normally, when you have differences of opinion with someone, you talk to them. That’s WHY we have a first amendment – so that we resolve political differences through speech and not through “second amendment” remedies. Normally, shunning and shaming is not a very effective at changing people’s minds, so I’m not sure why this helps his own cause. And if it results in California not being able to export its goods to, and import talent from, the rest of the country, it hurts all of us.
