A California mom of three says she was fired from her job less than two weeks after triggering outrage from local leftists for speaking out against a new sexual education curriculum during a school board meeting earlier this year.
“As a mom of three, I’m an advocate for my children, so I pay attention to what they are teaching in the schools,” Janet Roberson said in a short video posted to Twitter/X detailing her experiences.
The Daily Wire reported that Roberson, formerly an independent contractor with Compass, a major New York-based real estate company, sparked outrage from leftist community members after she addressed the Benicia Unified School District board in late April to speak out against the presence of inappropriate gender ideology and sexual content she said was present in her school’s newly-approved sex-ed curriculum. Parents are allowed to opt their children out of the lessons, but Roberson said the content is still worrisome.
“The new curriculum encourages gender confusion, not gender clarification,” Roberson argued during the meeting. “The notion that a girl can decide to be a boy, or a boy can decide to be a girl, is not true and should not be taught.”
On her website, the Bay Area mom argues that “Presenting sexual degeneracy and promiscuity as normal, natural, and healthy, particularly to children, is a communist goal to undermine and subdue American values.”
Shortly after speaking at the Benicia school board meeting, Roberson was targeted by community members, one of whom sent an article to a local newspaper outing her as a Compass real estate agent and accusing her of being “bigoted” and of promoting “racism” and “transphobia.” Another individual wrote a letter to Compass accusing Roberson of being “anti-equity, anti-trans, anti-Black, and anti-choice” and suggesting that she ought to be disciplined or fired.
Less than two weeks later, on May 1, Roberson said she received a phone call from a regional corporate director informing her that she could “no longer do business as a Compass agent.” Robertson said she tried to argue, pointing out that her work performance had been exceptional, but the executive allegedly told her “this has nothing to do with business….”

Harassment is not an acceptable behavior…especially by Christians.
Christians must be strong in Christ and tell the truth, and work hard, to eradicate sin and injustice — they have a special mission ftom God, to preach Christ’s Truth, stand up for it, and get others to stop committing sin, injustuce, and evil. Did Christ “harass” the heartless Pharisees? Did St. John the Baptist “harass” evil King Herod? Did Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King “harass” some cruel white people, asking them to treat the Black people decently and justly? Yes! And rightfully so! There are many excellent ways you can rebuke sinners and call them to repentance. A good priest might have some excellent and effective ways to try doing this. Your mom might have some great and effective suggestions, too, to try– mothers are good at that! You don’t necessarily need to hit someone over the head, like St. John the Baptist had to do, with the evil, hardened-of-heart, King Herod, to try to reach him.
Christianity is not about worldly power.
Don’t compare your totalitarianism to Jesus, John the Baptist or Reverend King.

I did not read this article at first because I am just so sick of this whole subject but when I did I noticed that she was not fired from Compass as your headline states and your article cuts off before the article explains that she was not an employee of Compass. She was an independent contractor with a team agent.
She did not really say why she was let go and neither did Compass in the article.
It made it seem like she just caused too much trouble for them.
Real estate agents are generally independent contractors who work under the supervision of a real estate broker. Their income depends on sales made, not on hours worked. There is a lot of flexibility in this kind of work– ideal job for a mother! Many companies, schools and universities, and other employers today, are now “going woke,” and unjustly “cancelling” or terminating good people with excellent records of work perfornance, who are faith-and-family oriented, with good moral and religious beliefs and values. It is wrong to terminate an employee without a just cause, and without a warning or explanation. In many cases, this can be illegal, especially if the termination involves racial, religious (etc.) discrimination. Some people who were unjustly terminated, due to new, unjust “woke” or DEI ideology and policies– have successfully sued their former employer, and have gotten their old job back. Or else, they have received financial compensation for income losses and damages unjustly done to them.
At will employment. Employee can quit at any time for any reason. Employer can terminate at any time for any reason, except for reasons of discrimination against protected classes of people. So an employer can fire a black, female, transgender lesbian employee as long as it’s not because she’s black or female or transgender or lesbian.
If you cheer what people did to Bud Light but are outraged at this, you’re inconsistent.

No. Pets are a part of your family, and need and deserve love and affection! You can call yourself a pet “owner” (“owner” sounds cruel, though, like a slave “owner.” Nobody really “owns” a human being or an animal. ) Or you can call yourself a pet “guardian.” Or, a lady can affectionately say, “Well, I’m a mom of him, too” (the dog or cat). I, myself, am a “kitty mom,” of an adorable kitty– who had a darling litter of kittens, when very young, that all got adopted at the shelter, before I got the “mommy cat” and took her home. She is also a very loving, nurturing “mommy” to me, at times, when I do not feel well. The term “mother” is often applied to many women in nurturing authority positions– even Mother Angelica.
