Authority is about giving.
Click here for five minutes (or less) of assorted wisdom from Father Joseph Fessio, S.J., founder of Ignatius Press in San Francisco.
Father Fessio studied with Joseph Ratzinger (Pope Benedict XVI), Hans Urs von Balthasar, and Henri De Lubac before returning to California where he began publishing these theologians and others – including Cardinal Pell, Cardinal Sarah, novelist Michael O’Brien.
Church liberal and popular writer Andrew Greeley, S.J. called Fessio “the most powerful man in the American Church.”

Here’s how I was a protective Joseph:
Two years ago, I was driving down the street in Los Angeles, when I came upon several “dreamers” trying to steal a catalytic converter. The car owner was out there swinging a bat at them and a couple piled in their car, a black Honda, and left their amigo with the saw behind. He tried to step in front of my car, presumably to carjack me, and without hesitating I gunned it at him. He jumped out of the way in time. I turned around and saw that he managed to avoid getting his skull creased by the car owner and caught up to his buddies down the block. I gave the cops the description of the car and, while I didn’t get the plate, they caught them a little while later red-handed.
Catalytic converter theft by the Democrat Party’s preferred and protected demographics is a huge problem in Los Angeles. A TV star was just shot to death after confronting a usual suspect about a theft in progress.
It’s gotten to the point that Los Angeles and the Bay Area are too dangerous to remain. Soros-backed DAs and judges are letting criminals out on the streets with no cash bail. Then they return to doing what they always do.
Biden’s open borders means that we are importing third-world gangs and criminals to major cities. They are going to bring down America. Best bet is to move where there are few immigrants.
