Dear Pro-life friends,
Because certain people are trying to block the efforts of sidewalk counselors to save mothers and babies from the horrors of abortion, we are keeping the dates, times, and locations of where we are counseling confidential. The notes below may come from one or more locations during the week. Some specifics have been omitted to protect the identity of people we counsel.
An early morning save in third week of April, 2018
The counselor arrived before the abortion center was open, so as to be able to talk to women who might arrive there early. The second woman to arrive came by herself. She was in her mid-20s and about 5 months pregnant. The counselor was able to speak with her briefly, showing her a flyer about the risks involved with abortion, as well as other options. The woman listened for a while and was polite, but said she had to make her appointment, and went inside.
A short while later, after half a dozen other women had gone inside, she came walking out. The counselor asked her if she was keeping her baby, and she replied “Yes,” and said that she just couldn’t go through with it.
They walked down the street a ways, and the counselor was able to talk with her more. She said she has a 3-year old, and had broken up with her boyfriend, and that the pregnancy was not the result of ideal circumstances. She shared that she was a Christian, and the counselor prayed with her and emphasized that no matter what happened, Jesus will be with her all the way…that this baby is a gift, and things will work out in the long term.
The counselor encouraged her to visit one of the pregnancy resource centers, and told her they would help her spiritually, mentally, and physically, and they will all “love you and your baby”. As she got to the car, the counselor asked her again, “You’re keeping your baby, right?” She smiled and said “Yes,” then got into the car and left.
Please pray for this woman that she will stay with her decision to keep the baby, and to seek help at one of the pregnancy resource centers.
