Dear Pro-life friends,
The sidewalk counselor was getting ready to leave after a regular prayer warrior had to leave, but something in her heart told her to stay and at least finish the Rosary they had started praying together. She was at the beginning of the 3rd decade, when a car parked about 2 spaces up from the driveway. A couple got out. The counselor approached the woman and offered a leaflet to her. She indicated she had an appointment and only spoke Spanish, with very limited English. The counselor told her “Un momento …tienes Espanol”…
Unfortunately the counselor could not find the Spanish version of the flyer, but was able to give the woman a card listing Pregnancy Resource Centers in Spanish. The counselor’s Spanish was as limited as the woman’s English, and and she prayed to God to help her get through to this woman. The woman made the motion she was coming in for an ultrasound, and was able to communicate that she couldn’t keep the baby because of her circumstances. She was in her late 30s and had a teenage daughter.
The woman could see they were both having a hard time understanding each other, and pulled out her phone that had a translation app (TBTG). They ended up having quite a conversation, and spoke for some time. It turned out she is living with her daughter and boyfriend in her car, basically homeless. She said she gave all her money to an attorney to help her get into the U.S. and is working as a cleaning lady wherever she can get work. She felt she couldn’t afford a baby, and support her daughter too. She loves her daughter and the baby she’s carrying, but she felt she has no other choice.
The counselor told her about Birthline, and explained all they did to help families who are in situations just like hers. She was going into PP to get an ultrasound to see if the baby was okay, because of her age. The counselor told her that her last baby was born completely healthy when she was 42, and the woman was very happy to hear that. The counselor explained that they were not going to offer her any option other than abortion, because that is how they make their money. She told the woman to tell them she had to think about it and to walk out of there. The woman seemed to have a change in outlook and said, “Even if I wanted to get an abortion today, and I don’t, I couldn’t because I have to go to work today, at 1pm”.
The counselor gave her the phone number for Birthline. She put it into her phone, and thanked the counselor for talking with her. The counselor told her she would pray for her and her companion while she was there. She finished up the Rosary in her name before leaving.
Please pray for this couple that they follow through with getting the help they need to have this baby, and not return to PP.

The Sidewalk Counselors of Helpers of God’s Precious Infants San Diego

Thank God for these precious sidewalk Counselors. Pray, Pray, Pray. End Abortion Now! Adoption is the option.
Will keep all in my prayers that they give this child life, and all their children a good home.
That woman’s pregnancy is nearly the least of her difficulties. Why do we let these people into our country? Really. There’s no help that will work unless a millionaire pays to have all 3.5 soon to be 4 of them put in an apartment and gives them a monthly subsidy. If — a big if — they get on their feet and can become self-supporting, there will still be many hardships. She should never have come to the US. She would have been better off in her home country. You come to a foreign country and you don’t speak the language? How do you expect to make it?
If that baby is born, it’s going to have a terrible life. It already has a terrible mother.
And what’s up with the deadbeat “boyfriend” who is unemployed and living in the car with them?
Count the bad choices. They add up to a lot.
Instead of rebuking this woman and her circumstances, why not pray for her, her daughter, and her unborn child?
Better for the unwed mother and her daughter to go home to her family. And no more out-of-wedlock boyfriends. Period. Mom and daughter need family help. Either keep the baby or have it adopted. Then, maybe the Church can help, with classes in the Catholic religion and morality, for both mother and daughter, and help them both with an education and job skills. The daughter is in danger of doing the same thing as the mother, unless she is given religious and moral training, and an education and job skills.
Yes, in many situations not giving money is a good thing. I was once asked by a young woman for five dollars who said she and her boyfriend were living in a car. While talking to her further, she said that they did not want to stay at the near-by house for the homeless that was ran by a religious group. I asked her why, and she told me that they would not allow them to sleep in the same room but would make them stay in separate rooms. I gave her no money because of her answer. People do not change their vices or bad habits if we enable them, so we must give wisely. It is better to buy a beggar food then give money.
Is she paying income and social security taxes on her income? We’re told that immigrants are contributing to society by paying taxes.
Sadly, many illegal immigrants are being exploited, being paid poorly, with nothing reeported, and no taxes, no benefits.
Sadly, “Reply to Taxes”, that is happening to many American citizens, also. When people get paid “under the table” by some employers, they have no benefits to rely on in bad times.
Why the live-in boyfriend? Shacking-up is the No. #1 problem. When young, virginity and chastity until the Wedding Night, after the beautiful– and lifelong– Holy Sacrament of Matrimony, in the church– was a very, very important virtue. Never allow Mortal Sin in your life. The Devil has been tricking young people on this for centuries. Outside of the Holy Sacrament of Marriage, as ordained by God– you have nothing but a sinful boyfriend, selfishness, laziness, and horrible Mortal Sin– in which a poor little helpless Child will suffer the most– for your selfish, filthy Mortal Sins…. and no legal Child Support payments required of the bad boyfriend. It has always been that way. The Vatican II Church and the Pro Life movement do not like to hear the truth preached about Mortal Sin.
Young girls and women who give in to sexual sin with bad boyfriends are the ones hurt the very most in life– always. Boyfriends have no legal responsibility for the poor girl they have hurt, nor for their out-of-wedlock children. It is a horrible thing, repeated constantly over the centuries. And a poor, innocent, helpless child — about to be cruelly slain at Planned Parenthood– is the one who pays for all of this irresponsibility, selfishness, laziness and Mortal Sin.
She has a job, an attorney, and a place to live. It’s a good start. I assume that the BF keeps the car running and pays for gas.
They live in a car. You assume too much.
In 1960, 5.3% of all U.S. births were illegitimate. In 2022, 40% of all births in the U.S. were illegitimate. In 1960, the Birth Control Pill was approved by the FDA for use by American women. Abortion was illegal in 1960, in the U.S. — and the pre-Conciliar Catholic Church strongly forbade birth control and abortion. Illegal abortions were not recorded, so there are no statistics on that. Catholic children were taught Catholic Faith and Morals in strong Catechism programs. The U.S. upheld Christian morality, and many states prohibited birth control. A high percentage of the adult population was married with children– that was the norm.
My comment of Oct. 25 at 10pm was cut short by one sentence. I believe that both Catholic and Protestant clergy need to help our country with teaching and forming people in Christ’s teachings, seeking to end the prevalence of all Mortal Sins- including abortions– and help people lead good lives, and make a better country.
Democrats ruined a good thing. Have you seen videos of all the welfare queens berating civil service workers because their SNAP and WIC benefits will soon stop due to the government shutdown? Stop giving poor people assistance, and then they will learn to help themselves and make more responsible choices.
It doesn’t matter if you are rich or poor, if the Church gives you a good religious and moral education, you can make a good life. Poor people really do need assistance. Women struggling alone with children, are among the poorest in society, the greatest in need. Who will help with childcare, when a poor mother with no husband has to work to suupport herself and her children? Who will pay the bills? Children need a strong and loving, responsible father. Good moral and religious training, and good, lifelong marriages and solid families, are the answer. Men need to be good, strong, responsible breadwinners for their beloved wives and children, in good, solid marriages, lifelong. Marriage and family are the core unit and backbone of a good society. No more irresponsibility, selfishness, and sexual Mortal Sins. No more abortions.
Lack of mandatory good religious training, and training in Christian Morality, by all the churches– as well as growing up in a strong, traditional family home, and being educated in good, traditional schools— is at the root of almost all of society’s evils, today. The evil, money-hungry media, sinful, Woke leftist indoctrinators in education and psychology, and many Hollywood celebrities and rockstars— glamorizes a life of irresponsibility, rebellion against parents, family and society, sin, crime; dope, addictions of all types, and horrific sexual sins of all types, instead of the Sacrament of (one man/one woman) Holy Matrimony, and responsible, loving care of children born to the married couple.
