Dear Pro-life friends,

Because certain people are trying to block the efforts of sidewalk counselors to save mothers and babies from the horrors of abortion, we are keeping the dates, times, and locations of where we are counseling confidential. The notes below may come from one or more locations during the week. Some specifics have been omitted to protect the identity of people we counsel.

Report from the first week of September, 2017

A couple in their mid- to late 20’s walked toward the abortion center entrance when two sidewalk counselors approached and gave them some information. The couple stopped and listened for about 5 minutes. The woman was upset, trying to hold back her tears. Her boyfriend was friendly and open to listening, but seemed a little stoic, and seemed to be the person directing the decision to have an abortion.

The counselors encouraged them not to make a decision they would both regret the rest of their lives, and told them about the various crisis pregnancy centers all over the county. The counselors emphasized that the pregnancy resource centers would “bend over backwards” to help them out in any way possible. It became obvious the woman did not want to go in, but the boyfriend politely said they had an appointment to keep, and needed to go in so they would not be charged for a “no-show”. The couple was warned that they would be pressured into having an abortion, and to not make the decision today. They were also told the chances of their relationship breaking up would be high if they went through with the abortion.

The boyfriend finally led her into the clinic, but they came back out less than an hour later. The counselors had a chance to talk to them again for about 5 minutes. After explaining where Turning Point Pregnancy Resource Center was located, the boyfriend seemed open to taking his girlfriend there, and she seemed a little less stressed, and was relieved. Please pray that they don’t return to have an abortion.

Shortly after the first couple arrived, another couple in their early 20’s came toward the clinic. The young woman was very stressed, holding back tears, and was moving quickly toward the entrance to the abortion center. Her boyfriend politely took the flyers and stuffed them into his pocket, trying to keep up with his girlfriend. They came back out a short while later, and seemed to be in a better mood as the counselors spoke to them again. As they started to drive away, one of the counselors motioned for the woman to roll down her window, and gave her a small pouch of materials. The woman looked it over with big eyes, focusing on the 12 week fetal model. The woman told them she was 10 weeks, and had decided to keep the baby. The counselors praised them for their decision, and asked them to be sure to contact one of the pregnancy resource centers for help. The couple seemed very happy and relieved.

Please pray for these women that they have the strength to continue to choose life for their unborn babies.
