Father Joseph Illo, pastor of Star of the Sea church in San Francisco, gave a 13-minute homily on Sunday, May 15 on the subject of love.
Father Illo began by noting that May and June are months of love. He cited the popular signs saying Love Is Love. “What does that mean? It is what we call circular reasoning.”
15-second excerpt:
“Love is God, Who knows God knows love. Love is, in the words of St. Thomas, willing the good of another. Who does that better than God?”
Another observation: “Sometime love hurts. Sometimes the lover needs to tell the beloved something that hurts. ‘You’re drinking too much’ is a statement of love.”
It’s not circular reasoning. It’s a tautology. There’s no reasoning involed in saying love is love; it’s an assertion that is necessarily true by reason of its logical form: asserting that something is itself. Duh.
Leftist nutjobs can’t even spell. It’s ILLEGAL, not “Illigal”. Sin without a doubt darkens the intellect.
I can show you a dozen signs by rightist nut jobs with far more hilarious spelling mistakes.
You would be incapable…..us “rightist” dont speak in platitudes
Bohemond I never thought of you as someone with any kind of sense of humor until now.
Well, if a man can be a woman and a woman can be a man, maybe an “i” can be an “e”.
Said “tongue in cheek”, of course. I do not really believe that. Just trying to express the stupidity of all this self-identifying.
