Participants wishing to join the prayerful pro-life presence outside Planned Parenthood clinics in Redwood City and San Francisco during the annual 40 Days for Life campaign March 6-April 12 can sign up for time slots directly on the organization’s website.
The global campaign, which began Ash Wednesday and ends on Palm Sunday, has collectively helped prevent almost 15,000 lives from ending in abortion according to 40daysforlife.com. Participants pray and peacefully protest outside the clinic 12 hours a day for 40 days.
Sue Thayer, a former Planned Parenthood director and now director of outreach for 40 Days for Life, kicked off the local campaign by speaking at Planned Parenthood’s Mission District clinic at 1650 Valencia St. on May 6. Participants at that location will pray from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Those unable to schedule a time slot online at 40daysforlife.com can contact local coordinators directly for assistance and more information. Jessica Munn can be reached at (650) 572-1468 or themunns@yahoo.com for those wishing to participate in Redwood City; In San Francisco, coordinators include Kelly Connelly at kelly@kcdp.com and Ron Konopaski at konopaski@yahoo.com.
